For anyone who updates, does the new version of Edge allow you to right click a link, select 'open in new tab', and automatically open and switch to that new tab without pressing Ctrl and Shift? That is the one feature I can't do without. Especially if it is a mouse gesture, which the current version of Edge is totally crippled with compared to the competition.

It look like the same behaviour for me. But maybe there's some other gesture that does it that I'm not aware of. I'm happy to try stuff out if you have any ideas!

If you right click a link to open in a new tab.... Edge does not go to that Tab.... And I cannot find anything in Settings to change that behavior at all... unlike Chrome....

Right-click does open in a new tab, but doesn't switch to it.

Interesting, I actually like how Chrome does NOT do that. When I open in new tab it is usually because I am researching something and will be opening multiple tabs from one page and so I don't want it to switch until I have a bunch open and then I go through each one.

I am a man for instant gratification I guess. My research pattern is to keep the search page open, read the link in a new tab, and close the tab to get back to the search page where I left off. Using mouse gestures make it incredibly quick.

Chrome doesn't, which to my mind is good: I tend to open "batches" of tabs, and don't want them switching automatically.
But you can make it do it, if you want: Tab Activate - Chrome Web Store[^] will do it (or allow the "proper" way if you hold SHIFT down)
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

Thanks. I've used Chrome's Tab To Front for the chore without any problems. Now I use Vivaldi (and like it a lot!), and its mouse gestures do the trick nicely without any extensions. But I haven't figured out a way to do so in Edge, and can't believe they haven't added the functionality yet. But they DO let you click a link in Bing (which I have no use for), and open it in a new tab automatically to the front, so they have unwittingly acknowledged that it is a useful feature. 
I would play with it some more, because Edge feels significantly faster than anything else I've tried, from the little I've played with it, but I can't get over the lack of this feature - let's see how many more phrases I can add to this sentence, before it becomes a mind-killer: will this one tip the scale?

THE QUESTON : What is a good color that looks dark enough to pass for black but will not use the black ink jet cartridge ?
CURRENT ANSWER
My best guess: RED: 000, GREEN 000, BLUE 128
This guess comes from trying a few different combos, just taking pot shots, not really knowing good from bad.
If anyone has a better idea, I will read it.
DEFECT PROCESS
Changed the ink jet cartridges.
Magenta, Cyan, and Yellow appear to print properly.
Black will not.
Changed the black cartridge again.
Still won't print.
This is the second printer of this model (They happily replaced the first one). Their business model just might be: [1] Sell printer at very low profit margin, [2] Sell ink cartridges at very high profit margins.
Anyway, it's out of warranty, and I'm just not willing to try another black ink cartridge.

One printer I had a few years ago would lay down lots of C, Y and M if it ran out of black.
You could try a very dark grey (say 0x101010) to try and induce similar behaviour.

That is exactly the business model for every printer manufacturer nowadays.
Whenever I buy a printer now, I look for a short list of several printers that I like, then I check the next aisle over to see what the printer supplies cost for each. The cheapest printer to buy is not always the cheapest to own.
Kinda like the original Mac/PC TCO model I spoze...

Try Fleabay and buy cheap Chinese imitations of the cartridge. I got five complete sets of cartridges plus two extra black cartridges for about 20 bucks. The driver will cry about those 'fake' cartridges to buy original cartridges every time you print something. Ignore it. Cheap ink may eventually damage your printer, But the money I saved on those five refills would already be enough to buy a new one.

I have an old Epson DX3800 (very good copy/scan/print device) which offers an option when low on black, and manages to use a CYM combination that is close enough for most purposes. I buy inks from printerinks.com, which are reasonably priced. Unfortunately there are other reasons why the printer may soon need replacing.

I refill the black cartridge - used a starter cartridge for 3 year, once (HP).
Now Brother has essentially Ink Tanks that have no print head (vs., HP, where each cartridge has its own print head). Cheaper refills - easier refilling if you go that way - but beware! If the brother print head goes bad you're elephanted big time. Just throw printer away.
So it was replaced with an HP - which, since I refill the black, myself (do not let it go dry!), my Mrs. can use as a copy machine if she needs to. Cost about US$ 1.00 to refill.
