Yup. If you've got a dedicated chip holding cryptographic keys (AIUI Apple does this on recent iPride models), you need to kill that chip too to make sure your backups can't be seized and used against you. Just fragging the CPU will only be effective against the same subset of adversaries that current remote bricking tools are able to stop.
