Hello CP, my name is Jeremy, and I'm a Facebook addict. I don't like Facebook, I think it's retarded. And yet, I tend to visit it at least once a day, despite me not being a fan of it and just complaining about how much I don't like it. Well no more! I've been in recovery for a few days now, and it feels pretty good. Although I almost typed it in the URL just now, and so finding myself needing some encouragement saying that FB is stupid.
Please note, any and all pro-FB posts will be replied to with angry face emojis. Thank you.

I actually paid my daughter 200 bucks to stay off FB for six months.
Perhaps if you paid yourself 200 bucks, it might work too.

Back when FB first came out and was .edu only I considered it a silly method for college kids to communicate. Nothing has really changed.

Despite not having an account, I've blocked Facebook right in my router. That way I can't even follow Facebook links sent to me, accidentally or otherwise.
The few times I've been on that site, I felt my IQ dropping with every click.

Facebook is a tool, nothing more, nothing less.
What people do with it is what matters.
I use it to stay in touch with friends and family that are too distant to always visit.
My wife uses it to remind me of things I've said, like today:
Groundhog day... leave the rodent alone! Get out of your monkey suit!
Do you want entertainment? Put on your monkey suit and wake a sleeping bear.
Now, THAT would be funny...
I said that 3 years ago; it came up in her timeline and she reminded me of it.
I'm still laughing.

Not necessarily pro, more neutral... I use it for certain purposes, but manage what I use it for.

I can make something useful with a tool.
Facebook is only useful to its customers. Also, don't confuse their customers with their users.

Exactly, the age old adage is true, if you're not paying for something then you're not the customer. Someone is paying FB.. and for what... demographics I'd wager. Sure, some advertising revenue too, but I don't think that alone would make them so rich. So, in essence, with FB and Twitter, the users are the product.

Facebook has the best profiling tool available to advertisers, perhaps next only to Google--and better yet (for them): People volunteer their information.
