I use controls like this - only the controls painted on the screen are created. Data are retrieved to DataSet and displayed during painting. Data are updated in try{} catch{} in TextChanged events of controls.

Hi,
I'm trying to write visual studio add-in.
I want to have toolbar with my own icons so I use this:
commands.AddNamedCommand(addInInstance,"MyCmd","MyCmd","Decription",true,1,ref cntG,(int)vsCommandStatus.vsCommandStatusSupported+(int)vsCommandStatus.vsCommandStatusEnabled);
But this code throws NullReferenceException 
I added SatelliteDLLName and SatelliteDLLPath keys to registry.
File SatelliteDLLPath\SatelliteDLLName exists and it contains bitmap 16x16 with number 1.
I've done exactly same thing before and it works, but now it doesn't.

I created new project with new satellite dll and now it throws: COMException: Unspecified error

I didn't placed satellite dll to 1033 folder (but i think, that first time I was doing this it works without placing dll to this folder).

 i need to parse an imagelist into a listbox to call the individual images then pull up another form that displays the image..... i know im asking for alot but i just lost i have done alot and this part is just confusing me

The resgen commandline utility will create them from .resx or .txt files.
If you don't have a .resx or .txt file then you'll have to create one, the format is described in MSDN, and VS.NET can create .resx files (but you probably don'thave VS.NET since you need to manually create a .resources file).

Actually I do have VS.NET, but I've no idea how to create either .resx or .resources files. Could you post how?

.resx files are automatically generated when you add a Form to your project. You can also add a new one to your project, right click on the project choose Add New Item and find Assembly Resource File.
In VS.NET a .resources file is automatically created from the .resx file and included as an embedded resource when you do a build.

Sorry to bother you again, but I actually just tried this and there is no Assembly Resource File type that I'm allowed to add. I am using MC++ so do you think that has something to do with it?

Hello guys,
I have a DataGrid bound to an MS Access View.
On the Grid I have a "DataGridTextBoxColumn", coresponding to a boolean in the DataBase.
A dataAdapter is connected to the DataBase, and populates the typed DataSet responsible for the DataGrid.
The only field that can be editted is the one containing the ChackBox. The Update method of the Adapter is supposed to set to the selected records' boolean Field the value "True" depending whether the checkbox is checked or not. (Also another field will be modified... not relevant)
The ugly part is that I can not verify wether the state of the checkbox, and update only those "checked". It happens that I check, and than uncheck a CheckBox, and the DataGrid considders that row as being editted, and takes it also into considerations when updating the DataSet...
Can U teell mee how to create a SQL Update Command Text which will take into consideration only the checked rows ?

if you have an oledbdataadapter to update the dataset is nothing you can do to do what you have said. if you want to do the update manually you can say
foreach(System.data.datarow a in mainset.table["tablename"].rows)
{
if (a["columnname"]==true) update.....
}
but i don't see why you want to do it that way if you allready have a dataadapter that works, if it is for the speed you can optimize the code i wrote that way. Since you want only the changes anyway you can do this:
foreach(System.data.datarow a in mainset.table["tablename"].Getchanges().rows)
{
if (a["columnname"]==true) update.....
}
tricky code!! isn't it?

Thanks very much. I will try to use the code you gave me.
Here is the reason I came here. I have a "Stock" application. (Inputs, Outputs and Materials).An input contains more materials (1 to many relation). An Output is also a collection of materials. (1 to many again).
To create such an Output I must select from a DataGrid (containing the Materials) those Materials that I need. I do that by means of a CheckBox column.
The Update method of the DataAdapter (that fills the DataSet Materials-Table) should set the value for the Foreign Key in the Materials Table, but only in those that have been checked, and set a boolean value saying that the Material is out of stock since it belongs to an Output (so only 2 fields are Updated).
Nothing fancy. But when the Update method is executed, and by accident I have checked and after that unchecked a row in the DataGrid... surprise: a fuuny error arises
"System.Data.DBConcurrencyException: Concurrency violation: the UpdateCommand affected 0 records"
No multi user environment, no data changed during my DataSet experience to explain the Concurency Error.

if you create a user control and add a vertical and horizontal scrollbar. You set the tabstop of both scrollbars to false and set the tabstop of the usercontrol to true. If you hit any arrow keys or pageup/down then the scrollbars flash forever. Even if you force the focus back to the usercontrol (which goes back and forth like 9 times till it gives up) then you still have the arrow key stuck to whatever scrollbar you affected first.
what I am trying to figure out is how do you force the scrollbars to %100 ignore the keybaord %100 of the time. I never want the scrollbars to react to the keyboard at all no matter what. However, I want all keys to be handled in the user control. Anyone know how to go about doing this?

Look into the Autoscroll stuff in .NET. I know it's limited, but it's much easier than trying to make your own scrollable control using scrollbar controls (rather than the built-in window scrollbars).

sorry I wasn't clear on my original question. Its not a matter of auto scrolling, its a matter of I need the arrow keys for other things. The fact that scrollbars exist on the usercontrol doesn't mean I want those scrollbars to own the arrow keys.

What do you want the datagrid to do exactly, if you want to see when the "enter" key is pressed you can use the KeyPress event?
if not write exactly what the app you want to do so we can come up with something!!

okay this is what i'm doing im writing a program to make a webpage newsletter i have created a form to input information into a datagrid then i have binded that to xml then use xsl to create the html page but i can't make the information look like a paragraph because the datagrid dosen't read paragraphs as a straight line. also im uploading images to a web server to allow him access to any image on the server......................alot isn't..............if you can help with the two last problems i would greatly appreciate it
