Many years ago I (somewhat jokingly) invented 'Skiddies'. They would add soundproofing, smell absorption and stain guard facilities to your pants. The theme tune of the advert would have been sung to the tune of Skippy, the bush kangaroo or the Goodies (can't quite recall which).
Strangely, someone did come out with something similar recently.

I suppose all Windows 10 users got an operating system update yesterday. If you have not seen it yet, rest assured you will in the near future.
Since the update I keep getting an obscure console warning every time I start up the computer: "Me Fw Downgrade Request MeSpiLock Failed"
Great! That tells me absolutely nothing!
An hour's worth of Googling and I learnt it most probably was an issue with my display adapter driver. I have a NVidea GTX745 display adapter in a Dell XPS8900.
To cut a long story short: The solution was to roll back the driver to the previous version, restart the machine and upgrade the driver to the latest version. This seems to have cured the problem. It seems the display adapter driver must be re-installed AFTER the latest Windows updates. At least that worked on my particular setup.
By the way: Many Dell customers complained that their tech support did not have a clue how to solve the issue. For some the issue was so bad their Dells froze up on startup. Elephanting Dell and their useless tech support!
I post this here in case it may be of assistance to other Dell users.

This issue was caused by a Microsoft update! 
The underlying cause may have been caused by NVidea or Dell. Who knows?

In Windows 10 realm, the major issue is the critical updates.  You have no way to run but to keep the machine running for a longer while.
On a side note: My laptop runs continuously without restarting or shutting down for 15-30 days on average. This makes me focus on work and to leave behind any tensed thought that I may have of driver issues. Besides, Ravi, did you not notice that every second complaint with Windows 10 is the updates and how these updates mess around with drivers. If someone as simple and beginners as me can understand, then why can't Microsoft developers understand this?

I really thought that after 6 months Windows 10 would be a good upgrade. But time span gets closer to a year and yet Windows 10 is not my recommendation.

So it was not just me after all. For my laptop, update did the worst. There was like a timer of 5-10 minutes after which the laptop would itself just shut down (straight-away shut down without any "Shutting down..." message). It happened when yesterday I updated the machine to "latest software".
I have gone through a reset and it seems to be back in working state. I really think Microsoft releases the updates without checking what PCs it is going to be installed on.
