Well there are bringing Bash and Ubuntu to Windows 10. Not via a VM, but via taking a native Ubuntu image and running it as a user mode program, with some Linux call redirection via int 80h hooking.

I am surprised that after all these years of talking about overcoming Microsoft, they haven't made Linux more user friendly. Linux will never overtake Microsoft if it is not user friendly.

And Microsoft is not very user friendly. Then Microsoft moved from Windows 7 to Windows 8, which is a significantly new Paradigm to learn, with a large number of steps back with a few steps forward. Was actually very surprised when Apple started using Unix. At least Google did not.
