I do embedded for a job. Computers don't know anything yet until I give them commands. It's the boys higher up that might experience some problems.

Exactly. They are the dumbest things in the world. They have no ability to judge or think for themselves. The only do exactly what they are told, nothing more and nothing less. They have 0 intelligence and yet people are worried that 0 intelligence will somehow turn into intelligence greater than their own. D'Oh! | :doh:

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that they won't take over peoples jobs, I mean that is already happening. I'm just saying that I don't think it will take over my job seeing as I work when they are still dumb.

Maybe you're right. I might be a little naive. I do however think that embedded would not be at risk during my lifetime. Unless of course if intelligent machines makes big advantages in technology. But then I fear, it would not be my job that I would be worried about, but more, computer domination. :-P

P.S. the only thing standing in the way of computers becoming so intelligent is us humans. We are far to dumb to be able to make something like that happen for a long time to come.

In developer world where frequent changes are done in software (Almost daily), Robot can not do a customized coding. either we need to program/drive a robot to make customization and then it will do OR we code it (definitely, it would save time).
I think frequent changes will not stop until Last End User Dead Big Grin | :-D

As far as this site concern, 'I've already lost my job to a Robot Overlord' option to be removed from here cause CP is for 'Code Project (for those who code)', and I think CODING its not clerical job (so how one can lost my job to a Robot Overlord ?? )

I think you are assuming too much here.
"Robots" can write music: Music and artificial intelligence - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[^], robot writes music - Google Search[^] - traditionally held as a "human only", creative task (and one that is beyond a heck of a lot of humans, including myself and Justin Bieber).
They also write Poetry[^], novels[^], ... and they are working on Software writing software[^] ...
Your Robot Overlord may be closer than you think. And given the quality of most code questions in QA, I could write software that produced better code in a couple of weeks! Laugh | :laugh:

But there is still 0 intelligence in those "robots." The intelligence comes from the human who wrote the code to be able to do those things. Simplified down to a bunch of if else statements, really.

My company follow a coding stander called "As you wish" so previous coder's are coded so well that apart from human no one could found there dependency so I am secure. Laugh | :laugh:
