How to get rid of the blue arrows in Windows 10

Introduction

Some days ago, I decided to upgrade to Windows 10. It all went fine after some hours, but I got some strange loooking icons like this:

Background

I wanted to get rid of these icons and so I searched on Google. I gave different results, as some Virusscanner (Norton) is doing it, or it is the sign for compressed files.  But after activation of "other color for compressed files", it looked like this:

The last and final solution was some registry hack, but after restarting the explorer in the task manager, it looked like this:

So I did a reboot and everything is fine.

Using the Code

In the zip is a registry export which solved the problem, after a reboot. That is the key point which I missed in the explanations.

Points of Interest

I want to share my knowledge because it cost a few of my hours to find and try out all things. And in the end, it is so easy.

Windows 10 is fine, but not everything is error free. And the good old reboot also helps in the new and shiny Windows 10 world. I hope Microsoft fixes this bug someday, so it is all obsolete.

Under some circumstances the black quadrats are coming back. I will investigate it further and update the tip.

...have these "quadrats" mysteriously reappeared?
Rose | [Rose] Since the source code for your article is just a tiny .reg file, you should include it in your article and maybe describe what it precisely does. i think this will guide readers to form an opinion as your tip works or not?
