Consider a cube. I can see 2*6 as the exterior diagonals, but for each face pair (a face and the opposite face) there are two squares that intersect and cross the interior of the cube, and each square has two diagonals so that would be 3*2*2 more. Right?

A cube has 16 diagonals. 2 for each face and 1 for each top corner to diagonally opposite bottom corner.
A 4D cube has 88!*
* According to Mathematica. I wouldn't know how to even begin to count them!

What they normally measure are six diagonals.
Top of each A pillar to the bottom of each corresponding C pillar, top of each C pillar to the bottom of each corresponding A pillar. That's four diagonals.
Then they should also measure left and right corner of the bulkhead to the right and left corner of the fenders.
So at least six measures in total if they are serious.

I'm not native either.
So ok, the pillars are what holds the roof up. The A pillars are in front of the front doorr, the B pillars are between the front and rear doors, C pillars behind the rear doors.
The bulkhead is what divides the engine compartment and the passenger compartment.

I think you may be translating the word "diagonal" incorrectly from your native language - how about telling us what the word is in your native language(and let us know what your native language is).

After a car accident there are often two types of measurings that are compared with the nominal values provided by the car manufacturer.
Because I'm German, I looked up the English translations:
Achsvermessung - axle, axial, or wheel measurement / alignment
Rahmenvermessung - frame measurement
Both types can be performed in longitudinal and diagonal (cater-corned) direction.
Maybe you can indicate if these match (if the report is in German).

Thank you very much for your reply. The "Thing" is not a case of measurable mechanical things, mechanical wise everything is ok. It is a question of "special effect Coatings" which is not easy to correct/judge. Viewing angle and light condition are important in this case. In Short: Depending on the illumination conditions, right side and left side of the car do appear totally different after accident

Personally I think the inspector is telling you he looked at the car from each corner (diagonal).

About a month ago my desktop started to develop speed wobbles. I got repeated blue screens, computer freezes and spontaneous restarts. Thinking it may be a virus, I ran tests and found nothing, so I thought it may be faulty memory, but memory diagnostics revealed nothing. Other hardware diagnostics from Dell revealed nothing. I replaced the system drive and re-installed Windows on a clean partition. It made no difference and I got fed up with the machine. It was time to replace it anyway, so I ordered a new Dell XPS desktop.
The new machine had DDR4 memory and a 3.4GHz processor that can spike up to 4GHz. It is lightning fast, but Dell supplied it with a clunky 7200 RPM drive that slowed it down. So I took the Samsung SSD from my old machine and replaced the systems drive. Of course, the new machine is capable of booting UEFI. At first I installed Windows 10 for legacy boot, but it bothered me that I was not using UEFI, so I decided to redo the installation. I have never done a UEFI install and was in for a rude awakening! It took me the better part of a day, just to get the partitions right and convince BIOS to boot from the new UEFI partition. I suffered several misfires and restarts of the disk preparation, before I got it right.
If you do not boot UEFI at the moment and are interested, I seriously advise you to be prepared to recover your existing setup if you fail with the UEFI option: Create a system image of your existing setup and a repair disc from which you can boot and install the image if you decide to give up.
Make sure your BIOS is not already booting UEFI, and if you are interested in proceeding, you will need the following to prepare a UEFI setup:
The tiny Windows PE operating system installed on a bootable CD or USB drive. It is barely 300MB in size, so it fits comfortably on a CD. You will need the DISKPART tool of Win PE to proceed. Note: There is a free third party tool, called Rufus, that you can use, but I decided to stick with Microsoft tools. To get Win PE, download and run the Windows ADK from here:

Run it and create bootable Win PE media.
Prepare a bootable UEFI flash drive, about 5GB or more, and copy all the files and folders from your Windows 10 installation disc to the flash drive. You will need DISKPART to create the flash. You can read more about the use of DISKPART here:

First you clean all partitions from the flash drive, selecting it in DISKPART and then running the "clean" command on it. Be very afraid if you run this command on the wrong drive. DISKPART has no mercy and no "Are you sure?" prompts! Then convert the flash to MBR. Create a single bootable systems partition on it and copy all Windows install files to it.
You now need to clean your C:\ drive in a similar manner and create four partitions on it to very exact specifications. Details of the partitions are here:

Lastly: I cannot give you a detailed step by step process here. Read up on the process and follow other links in the webpages above. It is not a trivial process. Once you are ready to install Windows 10 on the UEFI partitions, remember to set your BIOS to boot in UEFI mode.
