This machine rocks so much, I bought a refurb as a cold spare for like $670.00
-- I use this to verify that my backups work!
My challenge is that upgrading my machine takes about 40-80 hrs of effort, which outstrips
the cost of the machine, and currently the value of going through it.
Multiple DBs, configurations, development tools. Heck my PATH is 1,918 characters long!
So I am slowly pushing all new development into VMs. And WHEN I upgrade in a few more years,
I will probably make this machine into a VM

I've got a similar box... Dell Precision T7600, 32GB RAM, 8 core, 16 logical processors. Mine rocks too. No complaints here!

Our primary build machine is an ancient Intel server with 8 Xeon processors, 8GB of RAM, and a 4TB RAID. The machine itself is around 10 years old and still runs Windows 2003 Server. Last month I made the first repair on it ever required: one of the drives in the RAID died.

My seven year old Dell Optiplex 755 (bought at a discount through the company I worked for back then) is still going strong. The main drive is a 10,000 rpm 160GB but I use a 2TB secondary drive (plugged to an internal Sata connection via a cable running to the outside of the box through a ventilation hole) for most storage. It's a sort of internal-external drive. I upgraded from 2GB to 4GB about four years ago and am debating doing the same again. I changed from 32-bit XP to 32-bit Vista and then added dual-boot (with the new memory) to 64-bit Win7. I have updated the screen to a 27" 1920x1080 monitor using my 22" 1440x1050 monitor as a secondary. The video card was cutting edge when I got it and I haven't needed to update it. The 4GB of memory is plenty for gentle home development and usage - although my office desktop machine has 16GB, and my laptop 8GB.
I don't see me changing to WinX anytime soon after testing it in a VM, I decided it wasn't worth the effort. I got no benefits from it and a lot of headaches - include one from staring at the flat mono display!
Until it packs up I won't replace it.

5 Year old hand me down from a "old guy" customer who dropped it on us stating it just doesn't work right.
I snagged it before my wife did.
She got the last laugh however as her customer orphaned machine is a Asus Zen book rdp machine with backlit keyboard and ssd.
No money but membership has it's rewards.

I'm nominally slated for a life cycle replacement in another year; but if my computer lasts that long before being replaced it'll be the first time in 10 years : 1x each OS rot and no current image for the model I had, free upgrade because the interns needed better hand me down laptops to run W10, I needed a bigger HDD and bitlocker made cloning onto a new drive a PITA. (Or so I was told anyway; I never saw an explanation for why a block level clone couldn't be performed by a disk duper on the encrypted drive, with the partition then expanded when the replacement was put into my laptop).
At home I replaced my '08 vintage I7-920 with an i7-4790k earlier this spring (good timing on my part; the old one died over the summer).
The oldest computer I've got access to is a Dell Optiplex GX1p (P2 based) that I officially keep around because one of our customers has never been willing to actually say "yes we scrapped all the NT4 boxes your software used to run on". Unofficially, I still have it because we're not supposed to have more than 2 monitors for our main computer (this is an idiotic constraint, the cage is packed with spares) so it 'owns' my 3rd screen, and because I find the dual Y2K pass stickers on its beige front amusing.
