Apple has lost their sense of innovation and laser-like focus, and I wish they would stop trying to ride the fraying coattails of Steve and his invincible Reality Distortion Field. Tim just cannot pull it off like Steve.

Deeper than that, Apple product have lost their shine. More and more things no longer "just work". Things break, things go down, things just don't make sense.

A big iPad is nice if you need more screen real estate. A pen? OK, I can see it's use, but Steve is spinning in his grave. However, I'll need a PC because
  1. I don't like typing on a glass screen. I prefer keyboards
  2. I don't like staring down at a screen, I like a vertical monitor that doesn't give me osteoarthritis in the neck
  3. I like plugging in peripherals, like a USB cord to charge my iPhone every single night.
Mainly I need an operating system that's compatible with the apps I use. The Surface Pro is compatible with my laptop and my PC. Is his iPad pro compatible with apps from MacOSX? No they aren't.

Sorry, Apple, but Microsoft is looking way more innovative than you are these days. And that makes me sad. I'm happy for Microsoft - I use their tools 18hrs a day - but I'm sad because they no longer have anyone to chase, to push them, to keep them honest, to keep them up to date.

His whole "The PC is dead" is dumb. PCs have evolved, like dinosaurs into birds. We have a CPU, some RAM, some persistent storage, and a power supply. Whether that's in a box, a laptop, a Surface tablet, or a whopping big iPad makes no difference. They are all still computers. Take the iPad pro and add your smart keyboard, and then your Magic Mouse, and you have a convertible 2-in-1, which was just a laptop, which, really, was just a Kaypro[^]
cheers
