Yes, I've had spoofed numbers call (try to call) me too. Including my own home number calling my home.
Just more evidence that telemarketers are criminal gangs, and should be treated as such.

As soon as I answer a telemarketing call I say "Hey I'd like to record this. Please wait for the tone".. .then hang up.

At that time in the University corridors there were political inclined students who blocked the passageways asking for the phone number to invite people at Marxist-Leninist meetings. They were unorganized and divided in small groups...

I hate telemarketers. When I still had a land line, when they called it was no holds barred - I cussed, threatened, and insulted their ancestry in the most disgusting terms possible. A few times it was a game to see how quickly they would hang up.

Try Travelodge, there is one in Hounslow that is very cheap (35 £ / night for two people under Christmas in 2013) and literally ABOVE the Piccadilly Line. It's 4th zone so the tube ticket may be a bit expensive, but the accommodation is of good quality - very nice and helpful staff.
