Sounds wonderful... on the face of it but "a world where programmers [can] focus on solving the hard problems without being weighed down by the plumbing" is a) I've heard it all before and b) nonsensical: the very root core of being a programmer is that you know which bits of the plumbing you have to create to support a specific business need that no one tool could possibly know about or cope with without some underlying support designed and built by the programmer.
Besides, if my job is reduced to simply moving things around on a design surface then I'm done. I like the crazy plumbing.

They're not wrong, it's just none of their business and they're still assholes who deserve jail time.
As I see it only one party has broken the law and it's not ALM (although I fail to see how Application Lifecycle Management got involved  ).
I don't have a profile on ALM by the way.

Any websites that use Flash should be blocked by major ISPs until they remove Flash.

Flash may be a bad citizen on the web, but this is a sad day that plugins are going away!
Apple, well, Steve Jobs, really pulled the wool over the eyes of developers, forcing the no plugin activity that has consumed everybody!
Jobs real agenda was to limit innovation, the plugin innovation that is the very reason the internet is as good as it is today.
Plugins may cause problems, but they also lead to major innovation, which won't be happening anymore, now that the ONLY innovation that comes will be slaved to browsers makers, when and if they feel the need, which they won't in a standards based world.
We will get incremental innovation, but nothing like what Flash, Silverlight and other technologies brought us!
