AFAIK both displays are scratch resistant and i assume the cam is also. But it can't say for sure. But, i just read an article that a thin layer of bulletprof glas can be put onto displays (without negative effects on touch) to enhance resistance. Maybe this also goes for the cam

As the battery of my old phone is nearing the end of its life I'd like to hear your verdict of the Yotaphone now that you've owned it for a while.

I'm still good with it. My overall usage is not very high ( i play some games, whatsapp, sometimes phoning and use internet). I checked the most battery draining things (display 37% and games 23 %) and yeah since i use the screen on the back a lot my battery lasts between 2 and 5 days. It's not that bad i'd say. Soundquality of the earpieces is good (for listening to music), I got some nice pics on the rear :P.
The touchpanel of the e-paper display is accurate, got no problems on using that and i prefer typing text on it now. Whatsapp is used rarely on my normal display. Facebook got deleted, it cut my idle battery time of 10 days down to 5! That means it would reduce the battery time by half  . The camera is okay, the 8 MP are fine for me, it's a phone no sony - holywoly 50k MP cam . What i really like is that i can use the phone completely on the e-paper display and having time displayed all the time (or whatever i want). All in all i would buy it again.
Overall i'd give it a 8 out of 10 because, yeah it is expensive.
It's a good smartphone with sufficient power (no high end stuff though) but the two displays are really kicking. Everybody who sees me using that thing is asking: "wtE is that? A black/white smartphone?" Then i just trun it round and unlock the normal screen watching them getting big eyes :P.

How's the sound quality without headphones? (I have small children sometime watching movies on my phone)

Uhm yeah, it's a pretty cool gadget, i love it and i hope you are not dissapointed
The quality without headphones is quite good for watching videos. Didn't recognize any bad quality.
The only minus point i found so far is that phoning drains the battery quite alot (i don't phone so much) but they say that 6 hours of phoning leaves it empty.
There are some cases fabricated of leather (T-Case is the one i bought). It's a full surrounding "case". I dont know if there are any that fit to the 2 screens protecting only the sides.
If you really take the money in your hand and buy it, you will definately have a phone to show off

One of my completely infantile colleagues has bought himself a new batch of firecrackers, the pull string type[^] (I don't know the correct technical term for them)... So now things are exploding left and right.
He's taped them to chairs so that they explode when you pull out the chairs. Also to most doors and drawers in the building.
I was lucky and "disarmed" the one under my chair (see link above), but others have had less luck, and so far 4 people have bought it. The whole building is smelling of burnt powder!
The other day, an innocent and unsuspecting cleaning lady was the victim of one as well...
Has anybody else got "jokers" in their office???

I have two. Two completely reasonable people, when took singularly. When they both are in the office though (90% of time, and it is an open space)... It's 3 years I'm using all of my resources to try to not kill either one of them.

I also have two. The other one is a little more nerdy.
I HATE the standard whistling Samsung "you've got text message" sound SO MUCH! So every time he gets a text message (and I hear the sound), I yell at him to turn off his friggin volume when he's at work (of course he doesn't)
So just to annoy me, he built a setup with a Raspberry Pi, a speaker and a motion detection sensor (to detect if I was sitting in my chair), and hid it under the roof plate just above my head. There it would sit and play the "Text message" sound at random intervals.
I never imagined such an elaborate setup, so I assumed that he had somehow gotten access to my computer and installed some kind of malware. I went through every single file on the computer, but didn't find anything.
It took me two friggin days before I noticed a piece of scotch tape above my head holding the sensor (the rest was well hidden). I was completely going out of my mind.
Like with you, the two jokers normally go at each other, but it seems like the rest of us are now to be included in the festivities...
