Some may give you advice. But if you want some ask in the QA[^] or use one of the Web Development forums (available through the navigation to the left) for a discussion.
I might add that you should refine your question a bit so that others that yourself can understand what you're exactly looking for, because we can't read your mind. And nobody is going to optimize or improve your code for you (at least not for free).

I thought after I posted that it probably wasn't suitable for the lounge, plus the young(I assume) lady might have thought it offensive (which it wasn't intended to be)

Can you not use the best (optimum) site (as obtained from SEO - Search Engine Optimization) to help you get your advice?
Or, did the SEO result lead you to CodeProject Lounge?

Yeah I remember, sitting at a desk poring over an manual and trying to relate some tech writers ideas to my requirement. Then the phone call to tech support, please reinstall the application and try again AAaahhhhh pfft.
I'll never forget one bug that was fixed by deleting the method and retyping it, some hidden character had crept into the code and screwed the compiler.

It was agonising, at times.
What's weird is that I miss it. Must be because of the sense of achievement when you get the damned thing to work.

Twice that I know of, and maybe other times when I managed to delete/paste over it without realising I had done so.
Sometimes you need stronger swearwords than those available.
