Well, Helpouts were going to be rolled out to a wide CP audience. Unfortunately, the geographical restrictions in place have meant this idea has met a slow and painful demise.

Helpouts started as a great way to use Hangouts to share expertise, but the service wasn't very popular and Google will soon shut it down. Good thing I didn't add it to the newsletter again

I've never really dissed Microsoft. It guarantees me a paycheck, with or without the frustrations 
Before I really got into the work force, I remember reading about how MS works so hard to keep support for old applications, even to the point of reproducing bugs from old operating systems, just so things stayed backwards compatible. The example was a memory leak that was exploited by Sid Meyer in one of the old sim city games... so they actually programmed that if sim city was run... to have the bug!
I had a lot of respect for that, and also have realized why it is sooo dang difficult to guarantee backwards compatibility. You never know what the other guys are doing!
