I agree. 
Some people just don't like "new" things. They always get used or broken stuff. Not me. I only buy new, never used. Whether this is good or bad, I really don't care.

So this posting has settled an issue for me.
I'm not going to shell out umpteen hundred bucks for an eReader as long as I've got my laptop circa 1998. Though sufficiently heavy enough to hinder diaphragm movement while perched upon the solarplexus it is bad in this one respect. Perhaps I will sit up some and cause the works to reside more in a lap.
The biggest upside to spending zero money on new smells? I don't have to wade through the cornucopia of internet tested user synopsis(s) about eReaders.

I must confess, I'm very happy with my Nexus & tablet. I use it primarily as an eReader and to browse the web in bed. My dad (who's 95+ and not very tech savvy) loves reading newspapers from all over the world on the tablet.

I tried to modify a table in the database, and when I clicked "Design" in the context menu, I got this:
"You're not currently logged in as owner or administrator."
and this:
"You can change the table but the changes won't be saved."
The really intersting part of this is that I'm the user that created the database in question, as well as every component (table, stored proc, function and view) in said database, which, last I checked, makes me the "owner".
I can't do anything but laugh...

The change I'm trying to make in the database supports code I've already put into the application. I'm waiting for someone to suggest I remove the new code so I can continue working, just so that I can tell them that's not even in the realm of possibility. If they want to stop me from working, I'll happily oblige them.

Something similar happened to me once. I tried to change my default schema. Couldn't because I was part of the sysadmin group. So I removed myself from that group. I didn't think however, that now I can't get those rights back.

You can if you're a local administrator on the server. 
Starting SQL Server in single-user mode enables any member of the computer's local Administrators group to connect to the instance of SQL Server as a member of the sysadmin fixed server role. For more information, see Connect to SQL Server When System Administrators Are Locked Out[^].

That was exactly how I reinstated my rights and then created a new user so I have admin and user with different schema

There is a setting that needs modified. I cannot remember at this time but I will look for it.
Look under tools\options\designers\Prevent saving changes that require table re-creation.
