How is their "elitism" any different from us when you get stupid, lazy, unclear etc. question? I'm a member of both. I answer the questions here because I find it easier to access them.
Their network is comprised of over 100 question and answer sites, from developing to cooking to languages. I use only SO. CP is better, more complete site, but their QA is superb.

Their QA can be excellent. Can also be rubbish, depends on teh question - just like ours can be excelent, can be rubbish.
But try posting there as a noob, and see what happens. Everyone acts like He Who Must Not Be Named instead of trying to answer.
Yes, we have our own collection of elitist, arrogant, technically competent people (He Who Must Not... for example) but they are in a minority here. There? That's the general rule...

Out of curiosity, how many rep points have you got there (presuming you have an account there)? I searched "OriginalGriff" in Users, but nothing. Then I tried searching with your real name which did match a user with a whole and shiny 1 rep point.

For me the main problem of SO is that you have no right to an opinion on questions/answers/comments if you have no enough rep-points...
Here you can write your opinion (even it is the dumbest thing ever) and in most case you only will be corrected but not banned...
