And it's not clear if this is meant to be "1st", "2nd", ... or "5 stars", "4 stars" and so forth - I am assuming the later, myself.

Don't take it too seriously! Who cares what the results are ?
I agree that the rating is not clear, but what concerns working alone: In your professional life I guess you are in most cases part of some team, either directly or indirctly by contributing to team goals (i.e. provide some useable deliverables to be put together by others). The samurai approach (life-long single soldier) is probably not given for anyone. I'm self-employed myself too, but working *always* for or in a team - either on-site or off-site. So, I wonder what you complain about not having enough options...
Maybe you provide your own Survey - Chris is very open to anyone, probably next week you are already on-air! Will see how "perfect" your Survey is And again - relax - don't take it too seriously!
Cheers
Andi

You have to look at it another way - think about what you would need if you were to work on a project with 3-4 other CodeProject members.

You must have gotten those options from the alpha version of the survey

It seems to me as the list of normal equipment for a Q&A day
The only one I do not understand is the baseball bat - with or without nail. Who you mean to hit with? Remember, other CP members are sit far from you behind the security of the internet!

It cost about £298 - If you decide to spend it I will buy the baseball bat for you!!!

But think of the opportunities! Instead of a Q&A question, everyone would open a ::Workspace, share with you and wait to you complete the mission I think this is just fantastic!!!

I upvoted you not only because it's a true and recurring theme, but even more importantly, when I suggested a survey it was not done, hurting my feelings oh-so-much.
The proper real-world experience might include taking surveys, themselves, and realizing all the ways they are screwed up by improper options (not just the text, but how the survey data is collected - such as forcing answers.)

I don't understand your point...
So it means that if you work alone you don't need to:
- have a source control management
- have a task management
- track your time
- ...
Most things that apply to teams apply to lonely souls. Working alone is not a synonym "mess".
Also, maybe you mainly work alone but you might contribute to some other projects no?
Or were part of a team in a pass and have something to share...
Well... maybe not...
And still, the survey clearly says "when collaborating on code"... if you don't collaborate then this survey simply doesn't apply to you. Move on!!
REAL-WORLD is NOT 'doing it alone'... AT ALL!!!

You do know you don't have to respond don't you?
Or are you just that desperate for the 5 rep points for answering?
If so no-one is going to check your answers, just make them up. Ssh.
Some men are born mediocre, some men achieve mediocrity, and some men have mediocrity thrust upon them.

All good collaboration needs is an adequate supply if bacon butties: of the team is happy, the code is going to be good.
