I know the feeling, one you start wanting to spend, you just keep finding more to buy!
I ordered a whole new bunch of networking gear yesterday; Point2Point link, POE Switches, internal AP etc. On Monday coming, order CCTV system and also today got a glimpse of the new Evohome lineup from Honeywell so spec'd a replacement central heating and hot water control system, probably order that lot up once I finish the Network/CCTV install. All up it will be around $6.5K.
I think over the years, it would have been cheaper to build Tracy Island.
My Credit card thinks its kidneys are bleeding.....again.

So far this week, I've received three phone calls from the fraud prevention department, despite the fact that each purchase was almost immediately followed up by a payment to cover the charge...
I wonder why their fraud detection software ain't smart enough to notice that...

That's because the prompt payment is actually a red flag. In the old days, fraudsters could run up charges on your card, send in a payment (paper check drawn on non-existent or closed account) that posted to the account so they could run up even more changes. The check bounces - leaving you with a card whose balance is twice the credit limit.

Actually, the card and the checking account are at different banks, and I'm withdrawing cash, walking two doors down, and making the payment, so it's not like it's a transaction that has some sort of "delay to verify funds" thing. My payment receipt even says "cash" on it, so they know it was a cash payment.

Another thing that kinda smacks you in the face is how many parts it takes to build an engine from nothing. I don't even have spare nuts and washers that applicable, so I have to buy *everything*. I think when it's all said and done, the motor will be right at $11k. Effectively, nothing but the radiator will be retained, and we may even just go ahead and replace that.
