I don't know about the USA, but in the EU - all financial calculations must be performed in DECIMAL arithmetic with a specific accuracy (IIRC, 5 digits after the decimal point). Rounding is also performed using a specific algorithm (IIRC - rounding after conversions from legacy currencies had to be performed as "round to nearest or away from zero").
Excel's calculation method does not satisfy any of these requirements, so no large company based in the EU would use Excel for record keeping.
I grant you that when programming financial models, rounding errors can accumulate catastrophically and give totally bogus results. The first part of the solution to this is a good course in Numerical Analysis...

At 12:57PM EST, I for one am glad to see it here. This winter has been the worst I can remember for many years and I've gained 15lbs and feel like a sloth. Today is going to reach 73F here in SC and I am going to get my lazy butt out for a hike in preparation for my upcoming trip.

In the winter you have the snow so you can ski and whatever but what do you do in the summer as far as outside activities?

In the winter many of us go to ski, I personly not because of a bad knee (had a child operation on it).. I like the snow to watch it and walking on the fresh snow is nice (with the apropriate shoes). Walking on old snow (icy snow) is not so nice.. I the summer I like to go to walking here (playing tourist, many people come here to visit this area (southern Switzerland canton Ticino, just bordering Italy)

Sounds like fun. I'm from Florida and we liked to go to the beach and watch the tourists. They don't realize what the sun can do to them and how fast.
