I use EvoHosting here in the uk.
A basic package is less then the electricity you'd need to run from home.
They've never let me down once in four years.
Basic package includes free DN, a proper one at that(I have a dotcom), ftp server, website, three domain emails(for which you can change the names/passwords in about a minute.
All accessed through cPanel, and 10G bandwidth, hosted on StarScreamer and Linux.
Excellent host.

I've tried quite a few. Finally settled on Rackspace for email hosting, GoDaddy for domains (have a good DNS management tool) and Azure for hosting web servers (they host VMs with Windows Server and Linux at reasonable prices).
I haven't found a single company that does everything well though for a reasonable price.

I use Servage.net They give unlimited space with unlimited bandwidth. They have lot of add on installer scripts for blogs, forums, polls, etc. They also give you 1 free domain name. and price is pretty cheap. Look at their website, you will like it for sure.

I've been using risingnet/[^] for my webspace and an ircshell for the last year or so. Never had any problems; but because what I'm running is more HHTPfiledump than actual site the odds of my noticing anything shorter than a week outage on the web hosting are slim. I'd notice shell problems right away and the longest outages I've had were a pair that were several hours long outside of normal business hours.
Edit: Looked at their page, and they've added 1 click installers for some generic webapps. The reduced setup effort might get me to install a proper photo gallery and a blog I never post on at some point...

I have actually used JustHost. I have had great customer service from them, never had any real issues, set up quite a few domains with them over the years. Might not be as cheap as some of the ones mentioned here, but a good balance between service and price imho.

My setup is DomainReg + hosting through hostgator
wordpress blog installation is a 1-click setup through them, and is working very well for me. If you want to have complete control you can get dedicated server hosting. I use the shared hosting and it's totally adequate.
For e-mail I have hostgator forward all my e-mail to my @outlook.com account and have an alias set up there which is my hostgator-fielded e-mail address. Therefore I have a custom domain, but get to read & send mail via outlook.com and also take advantage of their spam handling, address book, etc. It's a great set up if you've got Windows 8 and/or Windows Phone to tie the whole thing together.

I've been using GoDaddy for several years. They give you several gigabytes of web space and more bandwidth than I've ever used (for a personal site) along with 100 MB of e-mail space (you can buy more) and up to 99 e-mail accounts in that space. You can have MySQL, MS Access, and MS SQL Server databases. I use the ASP/ASP.NET support, but I think they support PHP as well.
They'll do the domain search and set up for you with only a nominal charge.
I've had no major complaints about them. Their uptime is pretty good, I had a weather app that was pumping data from my backyard weather gauges to the SQL Server data base once a minute 24/7/365 and it would report connection problems for about 2-3 minutes in the middle of the night, but aside from that, it worked fine for rest of the time for the few years I was doing that.
Their user interface can be a bit wonky in that it is not intuitively obvious how to navigate it. It is geared to sales, so you might find yourself dancing around a bit before you figure out how to get to the maintenance screens.
I had some problems recently in that the e-mails were not purging from the e-mail workspace with their web e-mail interface, but their tech support cleared it up and it has been trouble free since.

I'm a casual web developer myself (ASP.Net). I hosted with IX Web Hosting for several years but they kept having systemic problems. More recently I found WinHost which I find works really well, particularly with ASP.Net and SQL Server. Cost is about $100/year I think (including your domain registration and all that).

I am using GOdaddy for my website and have no particular issue. they provide very good documentation / technical support. i had several issues while setting up my first site but that was because of my lack of knowledge but the Godaddy documentation helped me a lot and works fine for me. as per my knowledge they provide both asp.net / php support very well on windows

I submitted an article many moons ago and I just went to find it & see what's happening with it.
Now I can see it from my 'Articles' and its says its in 'Articles>General Reading>Scrapbook>General' but when I look in there I don't see it, in fact don't see a 'General' in 'Scrapbook' ... does that mean no one can see it any more?
Or what am I doing wrong?

No still don't see it, I get 4 articles under the title 'Great Reads' and 4 under 'Latest Articles' but that's it ... and on the right it says 'Research Library' and 'Discussions' ... no Idiots Guide ...
Perhaps its how I've got things set up ...
