Precious little Auntie has this article[^] on Rio's statue. It's not the statue itself that impressed me but also the tricks the website uses to navigate it. In particular the bit where scrolling up and down reveals and hides the lightning and interior of the statue. I've never seen that effect before. I found it quite clever.

It's called a "Parallax" effect. Simple to implement with jQuery, for instance.

I've seen a similar effect where mousing left/right over an image swaps between two versions used for the last few years to show before/after images; typically when a disaster strikes somewhere.

I normally don't do that, but I've seen the "Parallax" and "before/after" jQuery plugins lately and it was mostly to give a concrete example of what you two were talking about.

I do all my own stunts!
I've been making my own yoghurt for a while now, I have a bowl of an evening with either fruit or honey [from a neighbour in Hungaryorszag] This is the first time I've 'curdled' it and I was going to throw it out but at the last moment decided to try and salvage it.
I have a recipe for a home made cheese that I should be able to do in just a day or two - twenty minutes preparing and the rest of the time maturing.

Just mix in some heavily flavored herbs (minced and mashed garlic, onion, chives, and the like), pour it all into some muslin, tie it off, and hang it up to drip/drain.
It will be a soft spreadable cheese like substance and taste nice on bread.

And the cheese eaters. I popped home for lunch and made a very quick snack of blue cheese, thinly sliced Bramley apple, pine nuts, cherry tomatoes, drizzle of very thick balsamic. T'was rather nice. It filled one corner. Our support chap from Sicily brought over some delicious choccies and that will fill another corner. So far, all things are well balanced.
