Hello,
While composing an article, i was writing a paragraph. When my para got completed i hit the enter key.
But the moment i did that, my paragraph got shifted down from the top it self(not from where i hit the enter key)and the cursor placed to the very top.
So to go to the next line without hitting enter, i needed to either press space bar till the line ended or press the right arrow key till the end, then the cursor shifted to a new line. So how do i overcome this?

The Editor is a cripple. Explains everything, but the Hamsters still refuse fixing the Mofu.
I'd strongly recommend you to download the template and do the editing offline, in a HTML Editor or Visual Studio.

Thanks i have downloaded the templates. I think i must also learn HTML. I am not ashamed to admit that i dont know HTML and i want to start a career in web development. How ironical!!!  .
I just want to embed an HTML statement in the article i am writing, just want to try out something.

Hello All,
I am writing an article. I just wanted to ask a few things:
- How to add a code block section to the code which we post? We can do so while submitting a code into the Question Answer section, but not here.
- How to add an image?
- How to add a quoted text block?

- I don't think there's a button to toggle "code section begin" or "code section end." You might have to do this on an HTML level. So add a <pre> block with your code in it. If you're having trouble shoot me an email and I'd be happy to take a look
- 14 and 15 should cover that here: Code Project Article FAQ[^]
- If I understand you correctly, when you're pasting the text you want in a quoted text, the option of what paste type should automatically show up (shown here: Code Project Article FAQ[^]) and you would select "Quoted Text"

So the type of text i am adding should be an HTML? I tried doing so, but when i say the preview of my article. It showed up with all the HTML stuff(i mean the tags and all). I will try again.

Hello Sir,
Now suppose i say:
<b> Hello</b> in my Article, it does not show "Hello", but it shows what is written as it is, like this:
<b>Hello</b> when i preview my article. I hope that i learn HTML like this....

It sounds like the angled brackets are getting encoded.
Make sure you're pasting it as <b>Hello</b> and not <b>Hello</b>

I think it is a great start. One thing I would recommend is given your topic, I would look around on CodeProject at articles on the same or similar topics. Make sure you include in your article: What makes your article different? What areas are you exploring that other articles haven't covered?

I am very sorry to trouble you like this again and again. My focus is freshers(people with a very little experience or no experience at all) should read this article. I want them to simply have a glance at it and be able to grasp it at the very instant they read it. Its no point using high end terminologies(they wont understand it. I used to be in the same boat i am still). This article should be damn simple,to the point, expressive, attractive.
And yes thats a very valuable suggestion. Actually i am busy on a project, i am not able to give time to the article. This is irritating me. Well, i really want to thank you to take out some time to advice me.
And really sorry to trouble you with something like this.

Pete's really covered the basics. Once you have your article complete or nearly complete, you send me an email saying you're ready for a mentor to take a look over it, and then they interact with you on your forum, discussing ways to make your article better and help get it approved for CodeProject.
Your current article probably needs a little more meat to it before the mentors can get into it though.

Why not ask Sean if you could be mentored? There's a mentor program here on CodeProject where you can ask people to look at your article and make suggestions to help improve it/make it ready for release.

It would appear that the old method of centering a table on the page:

no longer works.
How does one center a table?
Maybe there should be a short HTML guide on using tables in CodeProject articles, useful for us old timers who learned HTML when Netscape was the #1 browser...

or using standards
<table style="margin:0 auto"> ... </table>
eg
or for full cross browser support
