When I do drink tea, it's always straight from China (usually either Pu-Erh or LongJing) -- none of that English "we finally find out what plant it is, so let's grow it in India and process it in five minutes through a crappy factory, rather than treat it with respect!" rubbish.

I was trying to renew my motor insurance policy on-line. Since it expired yesterday, I cannot do it on-line. I get it. So I try to buy a new one. In the year of manufacture drop down, I just see 2013 and 2012. So, I click on "Live operator chat" and wait for 15 minutes for response. Some idiot finally responds.
I tell him this story and the response was: "Since policy has expired, you cannot renew it. For more assistance call blah blah blah." I tell him I am trying to buy a new policy but cannot see 2011 in year of manufacture. Again, same response.
I then tell him to forget everything and tell me if it is possible to buy policy online for vehicle registered in 2011? Now the response is to call customer care and he disconnects the chat session.
This is just idiotic. Bajaj Allianz, not that you give a sh*t, but you just lost a customer who was buying all the motor and travel insurance from you for past 5 years.

No its not just you, it was for similar reasons I dumped my long term insurers, I now get fresh quotes annually for ALL insurance, first year I did it I saved £275 on me and wifeys cars and a fair bit on the building and contents, it takes a bit of work but with gocompare it remembers your details for ages so getting quotes is not that hard.

It's not just you, but I don't think it is every one of them, it just seems that way. It has come to the point where you expect them to be stupid/rude/arrogant/unhelpful [delete and/or add as applicable] and when they're not you're so surprised you can't actually recall them helping.

Customer care departments, like all parts of a company, are designed to maximize revenue, not to help customers. Customers are cattle that is to be slaughtered with the highest possible efficiency. I'm not sure how being sunshines maximizes revenue, but if it didn't they would surely be executed on the spot - reducing revenue is High Treason against the Monarch of the Company.

Have you guys ever found a bug or misbehaviour that you were unable to correct?
I´ve had a bug haunting me for weeks that makes me wonder if there are unsolveable bugs out there.
I lack experience since ive only been coding proffessionally for 5 years.
If you had one,what was it and what made you give up?

There aren't any unsolvable bugs . You just need to keep debugging until you find it. Bugs occur when there is code. If there is code then the bug can be fixed.

No, i haven't find a bug that i cannot solve  If you debug hard enough and if you find something that you cannot understand after you ask in the right place (for example here) you can fix everything

Bugs are errors: sometimes in the code, or the design, or the specification, or the way the user is working - though the last reflects more on the spec than anything else.
And errors are fixable. If necessary, write them up in the manual, and then they are features, not bugs at all!

Yes. It was in RSA-signature-protected firmware. I would have had to crack the key in order to fix it.
