I don't doubt that factoid... however it's not that important in the grand scheme of things that I didn't use he/she... Do you also call manholes "maintenance person access covers"? How about chairman? Actress?
It just seems to me that society in general is more interested in seeming than doing... Getting carried away with stuff that really makes not a jot of difference in the world... Political correctness is a bit of a bugbear of mine...

I share your abhorrence of PC but that sentiment can be taken to the opposite extreme and can be used to justify narrow mindedness.

Also a fair point. See how nicely we can discuss things? It'll never catch on in the Soapbox!!

Funny coincident with rail travel. When I went down into the station this morning, an alarm was sounding and a recording telling everyone to evacuate the station. I went straight back up the escalator, and the security guard there (they are everywhere) told me it was OK to go down, it was a false alarm. I went back down just seconds before a train arrived, which I boarded for work.

Very good! One wonders if they might find themselves on the receiving end of a defamation case brought by Apple lawyers.

Add Facebook's newly purchased Face.com facial recognition software to the mix and things get even "funnier". In my opinion - facebook is NOT too big to fail.

A woman I went to high school with has had major hearing loss in both ears since she was a toddler. About a year ago she got cochlear implants. Her reaction to hearing her children's and grandchildren's voices for the first time was similar.

A little girl was sitting on her grandfather's lap as he read her a bedtime story. From time to time, she would take her eyes off the book and reach up to touch his wrinkled cheek.
She was alternately stroking her own cheek, then his again.
Finally she spoke up, "Grandpa, did God make you?"
"Yes, sweetheart," he answered, "God made me a long time ago."
"Oh," she paused, "Grandpa, did God make me too?"
"Yes, indeed, honey," he said, "God made you a little while ago."
Feeling their respective faces again, she observed, "He's getting better at it, isn't he?"

So I log onto MSDN to download some software and it seems they are giving away a Ford Fusion if you try out Azure .... then I noticed it wasn't a Fusion. Must be terrible that a super car is nearly indistinguishable visually from sub 20k vehicle.

It does look quite a bit like the 2014 Ford Fusion[^] although the 2013 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Coupe[^] you can win on MSDN is only a 2-door.
Perhaps if you win, you can request to get the Fusion instead.
