When looking at the title I initially thought that MM posted it.

What's really elephanting annoying however is my companies continuing efforts to lock down the entire internet using websense.

I'm still going to use the site, just now it's going to be on my phone using 3G and take a lot longer.
Plus I've already lost time bitching about it.
The world has changed, you no longer have go to work do work stuff, leave work do none work stuff. Lines are blurred, you can do work stuff and none work stuff at work and not at work, indeed it is expected, so why is the other way round not acceptable?
Does it cost the company anything in monetary terms or lost productivity, or do people simply adapt to fit the occasional none work thing into their working day?
If I want to waste time I shall do it regardless of what websites are open or closed, it gets closed down enough then when I'm bored or want a break then I'll waste time with by talking to my colleagues instead, then I'm stopping several people working.
All this treat your employees like an untrustworthy child bullshit is totally counter productive.
All in my humble opinion, of course.

Reminds me of a story I read this morning where they are going to introduce more fencing to Railways in order 'to prevent suicides'. I thought they're not preventing suicides they're just making people do it in a different way.
