Microsoft's own platforms take a backseat when it comes to requests for mobile apps, developers find. No love for Windows CE?

Its not really new. Folk prefer Android and iOS because they have been out for a long while and have a lot of apps available. It is difficult for Windows products to push their way into a market with well established products.
Just because the code works, it doesn't mean that it is good code.

Sort of sucks that the Windows team is so incompetant. Had a great opportunity if they could have gotten the mobile OSs working 10 years ago as they should have.

That's the worst part of it - 10 years ago they *had* a mobile OS. In fact, I'd say they were smartphones before phones were smart. They just can't seem to convert it into a touchdown or..., or something. I'm failing on the sports analogies.

So True. Seem to be the team that tries so hard but still comes out on the bottom, fortunately for them, there was no competition in Windows Desktop. Pretty much failed at taking the Palm OS on, and so on. Originally thier ocmpetition was Apple, Sun and IBM, who were obviously even worse at competing with Windows. Did not hurt that great development environment compared to anyone else.

The NSA is reportedly not the only government agency asking tech companies for help in cracking technology to access user data. Sources say the FBI has a history of requesting digital backdoors, which are generally understood as a hidden vulnerability in a program that would, in theory, let the agency peek into suspects' computers and communications. Are you sure they did it for themselves? I'd rather expect NSA asked them to do so, and Google only failed keeping their actions secret (like Apple with their iPhones sending location data).

Unchecked, meetings can be a superfluous time suck. While it's possible to have better than average ones, try setting at least one day per week aside with a complete meeting ban. Assuming you have any say in the matter

We are professional, and if meetings are disruptive to your work, then you should discuss it with your manager/boss/team leader and make it clear that too many meetings are a waste of your time and their money.

maybe yes ?, but having a day in the week that no one could schedule a meeting might be a good idea.

Fridays at my employer have been designated meeting free. The C-Levels love it. Sadly, project managers see that as the only opening to have project meetings, so they are meeting days, just like the other ones.
