In India, there is discrimination based on caste. No matter what people say, it still exists. Since there are lot of skin shades available here, color does not really matter. Although, fairer you are, more beautiful you will be considered.
Having spent considerable time in South Africa for past 2 years, I kind of have a mixed feeling. I think it has more to do with financial conditions there. IMHO, it is consequence of past actions.

Yes, well. I live in Germany. Even most people are not open racistic, there are still fears. As being an open for all person, I feel free to move along different social and ethnic groups. There is always fear.
In a "Polish" disco in Germany, not long ago, I was the only one not able to speak Polish. Even I had a polish Girlfriedn once, I felt uncomfortable in some moments. I didn't understand what they were talking about and I felt some open inspecting looks.
In my eyes there is not enough integration. Immigrants live on their own, Germans life on their own. Nearly no contact. Many aren't able to speak German well, but how should they learn? It's not obligation to learn German and there is not enough contact to learn it in daily routine.
Yes, there are still prejudices and I think that a human phenomenon. Even those saying that they are open minded have prejudices indifferent from where they are coming. Yes, I have sometimes prejudices, too. But I try to get to know about the person behing his nation / skin / face / religion. And I'm able to change my prejudices after I met somebody.
It's not bad to have fears, but everyone should try to learn more about others.

Not just a German problem - I think that is the norm. I can understand it: new country, new way of doing things, dressing, speaking, eating, etc. - it makes sense to seek out the company of people who understand what you are going through. What annoys me is when people make no attempt to integrate then complain that the rest of the community is distant or rejects them and their ways...and starts insisting that the rest of the community make special provisions and allowances for them.

National Left-handers day was 2 weeks ago so you are not allowed to discriminate. We have our own day and are protected by the government. In fact, many recent US presidents have been left-handed. Oh wait, I may not want to claim that connection.

Here in the UK they recently had a Ginger Pride march where folks sporting Ginger locks and who answer to the name of Ging had their day of celebration in London. I'm not Ging myself. Quite a few of them seem to be Scottish, surprise, surprise.

I might live in the UK but I'm not a commie.
Apart from a certain core of scum that have infiltrated the BBC and others that stand around like used arsewipes selling socialist newspapers, the UK seems to be relatively "unpolluted". I might of course be wearing designer rose-tinted glasses and not seeing the full picture.

I just moved house a couple of weeks ago.
Eventually all went well (Oh! the tales I could tell!) and we've unpacked (almost) all the boxes.
So now I'm 20 minutes from the golden beaches of the Sunshine Coast, livin' the dream...
Then I realised; "Sunshine" has a different meaning here - which also makes the region more alliterative!
I shall be referring to it as "The Sunny Coast" from now on.

I like Australia. My perception of Australians had been coloured by the influx we had in London in the late 90s. It just wasn't possible to get a pint without an Australian pulling a handle in those days, and they certainly lived up to the stereotype. The free-fall exchange rate seemed to have them all heading back to the airport.
I've visited a couple of times in the last few years and I was surprised to find that at home Australians were rather more refined and conservative. Notably, some of the most beautiful women I've ever seen were to be found there. Manley in Sydney has to be one of the finest places I've been.
For balance, the ugliest place I've ever visited was New York. I wasn't expecting that. I saw more things kind to the eye on the train to Heathrow than I did the whole time I was out there.
