You raised a good point as their installer tends (like most) to default to installing extraneous crap. Their first attempts at a FW where crap as well, but it has matured finally. The one thing that I hated most about the early versions was that they did not import the prior version's setting, so you had to reconfigure it after updating. I still keep the Defense+ part of the FW disabled as it was/is a pain.
I never seen their browser application, but I haven't updated it for about a year now (running V5.12.xxx and it looks like they are on version 6.xx now). It sounds as though I did not miss anything other than grief.

One problem I have always been fighting with ZA is when I rebuilt a program that runs as either TCP client or server. Although there are per program settings for "changes frequently", for some of the programs it just never got it and I had to confirm it was allowed to do its thing every single time I made a change and ran it. For other programs it worked as intended.

It is amazing how many big companies produce crap drivers even when given all the tools by MSFT to make them propperly. I have seen so many bad ones for so many companies. It realy is pathetic you know.

A scenario lots of us have encountered no doubt.
I went through Norton, AVG and Panda and about 5 years ago started using Sunbelt Software's VIPRE AV product. Haven't had any gripes, is non-intrusive & doesn't slug my PC. About a year ago GFI took it over, I'm waiting for them to f*** it up but so far they haven't.
They also have a firewall product which I test drove for a bit, but since I have everything behind an ISA server (disparaging comments not required) my PC's only have Windows FW.

A million? He's thinking too small. There's 10 times that right here!!!
So, Chris, want to tap into the 10 mil for a Code for Code Project? (As Chris might say...) "Mwahaha!"
Seriously though, it's an interesting idea, and the first three apps that they've developed are interesting in themselves, in a weird sort of way -- what does it say about a society when you develop mobile apps to protect women, report missed garbage collection, and absentee teachers? Doesn't that strike you as a bit, well, odd?
But I think the idea has merit. I wonder what sort of source control they use? Let me guess. Git. But who handles all those pull requests? Mwahaha indeed.
OK, I'm signing off now -- I think I have di... (don't know how to spell that and too lazy to look it up) of the, erm, fingers.

Hell, I'll bet that the message boards for that "development group" will be even more vicious and backbiting than the Linux message boards.

I was just in a discussion where the word "Weven" came up as a reference to "Windows 7". I like this and will be using it from now on.
Does this mean that "Windows 8" could be "Weight" or perhaps, more aptly, "Wait"?
How many other renames of O/Ses could we come up with - derogatory or otherwise?
- I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.

Wow, you're well behind the times. We've known Windows 7 as Weven for years now. I believe it was JSOP who christened Windows 8 as Wait. Obviously, we have Wine and When coming up soon.

I sense a naming conflict with Wine[^].

No conflict if they adequately call it 'Whine'

True, but that project has been called 'Wine' for so long, I doubt they are willing to change the name.

That's true. Mickeysoft Whine would fit much better. They are already changing everything, so this would not be more trouble.

Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?
