The bad words (which I haven't been able to read) were uncalled for, but I believe it wasn't entirely OP's fault. The guy had a straightforward question and, sorry to say this, but you gave him an answer that is totally not related to what was asked. Instead, you pointed out the flaws of his code, and you mentioned that he has totally no clue on the topic, which can also be true, but there are plenty of ways of saying it without offending the OP.
I think, when answering questions, we also need to be aware that each of us have different ways of learning, as well as how we accept criticisms and understand things, so we should also be responsible in phrasing our answers so that it would not look harsh for the OP. After all, isn't that the purpose of Q&A? To give developers a push on the right direction and not make them look stupid?
You and the other folks in Q&A have been providing excellent answers since before and those were really invaluable. But sometimes, it's nice to make self-evaluations once in a while if we are really following what was in the bottom of Submit Solution widget, especially the last sentence.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I have not been able to find a description about expected/acceptable content of Reference articles.
I did notice Chris changed some of his articles to be Reference articles, including CP article #1: Braces and brackets[^]

At the top right of each article is a box that provides a little info on the article, including the type. The type is actually a link to an explanation page[^].

References to what?
Who decides? Surely not the author, if they are to be references in the sense of "the standard work on the subject" - that should be the readers, shouldn't it? And if it is, why does it need approval? If it isn't then again, why does it need moderation approval?
Surely you can't just write something and decide "this is the definitive article" and publish it directly as such? (Because I can see that being abused PQD!)

I gather that they are meant to be for such things as a list of ASCII characters, that type of thing. Basically, short articles that can be used as a handy one stop location for information - for instance, the syntax of Dependency Properties.

Is requesting source code fro a Skype Brute Forcer - which as far as a quick internet check is concerned seems to be a tool for brute force attacks intended to crack Skype passwords. Surely this counts as malicious code, which we don't want to be associated with?

I hope you knew what you have been reporting and the questions were really the spam.
For a record, I would be careful: if some answers (to ancient questions or not) are really on the topic of the question, informative of helpful, they should not be considered as abuse even if they are based on some other site.
