I don't know what he wrote, but perhaps he was removed unfairly, might be worth looking into.

Wow, the spammer won first prize in the C++ articles Dec 2012 and claims to have an MVP, all through cheating.

A difference of opinion expressed by that account in a pretty insulting manner. I do wish, however, that the questions raised by that account were answered directly since it did seem (at least for the first post) an interesting issue. After that it just went downhill badly.

Careful. "Spammer"? I don't see how that's apt or accurate. We all have zero time for people who create fake accounts, but I do not believe this was the situation in this case. What do you do if your wife and friends sign up because they know you're posting and they want to give you a 5? Tell them "no"? I wouldn't, specifically because I know that over time those few votes become meaningless after several dozen votes.

Wow. Just wow. How can someone do this without feeling like they are doing the wrong thing? It is just unbelievable! Absurd! Insane! Outrageous!
Oh, and I 5ed your messages (and Pete's) to try and return a few points to you guys. Those points should have not been lost, you were doing the right thing in reporting this criminal.

Good point about the lost points. You should also look at this Lounge post[^] from earlier today - I think that is what got the whole thing started.

I have tried to "reach out" to this author. Sadly, I get the feeling that he's going to be beyond redemption. I don't think his behaviour will change.

If you don't want to say it, then I will: He has turned to the dark side. 
All kidding aside, I remember looking at his Target Eye articles when they were first published, thinking it was an interesting, nostalgic look back at old projects. Nice, no harm done.
Now when I look at some of the alleged sock puppet accounts, the voting is not subtle at all. Unfortunately, I peeked into the rabbit hole and all of a sudden, there seemed to be a link to an even bigger MVP with "sock puppet like" activity, although to a less obvious degree. I don't want to follow through on that right now.

If you suspect that type of behaviour, drop Chris and Sean a note. They will look into it.

Report it. If he/she is doing this they are degrading the usefulness of the site by making their articles look better than they are.

Jörgen Andersson Good catch. I checked first few in the above list and what you said is right. on an average 10 of his article was voted on the same day. mostly on 25th Jan.

Well, I tried to reason with him, but his sock puppets have removed my posts. He's not going to learn.

Would you recommend reporting him and the puppets then?
I'm a bit ambivalent here, I feel that his MVC status might be undeserved, but I don't believe the sock puppets made all the upvoting on some of the articles.

I've asked about this one on the Moderator's forum - perhaps Sean/Chris could have a quiet word with him. I had voted him abusive, but I've said that if I'm wrong they should remove my vote. Heck, I'll even go and publicly apologise to the guy; my gut says he's abusing the system but I am more than happy to be proved wrong. The sock puppets have to go though.
