That isn't going to happen - and for very good reasons. If you have two stylesheets, then that's two things you have to maintain as the site changes and new functionality is added.

Not true - those on the old style don't want new functionality, no need to include it for them!

On the whole I like the new look: clean, less dense, but I must join with JSOP and Ravi B. on two issues: ... I'm paraphrasing their remarks here:
1. your using a lighter color for body-text is hard on my older eyes. JSOP
For Post body-text: examined at 3200% in PhotoShop: it's composed of a veritable rainbow of colors. Segoe UI 14 points ?
For Post Titles: it appears you are using a slightly bluish #006699, anti-aliased with an orange #ffd28c, and a blue #8cd2ff, on pure white background #ffffff. Segoe UI family font, perhaps a 14 point Bold ? That's reasonable to me even thought I think there are better colors to anti-alias with.
2. the "leading" (vertical space between sub-title lines, baseline-to-baseline) is a little too extreme. Ravi B.
Well, it looks to me like you are using normal line-height, in your CSS, but I am measuring it as 20 pixels baseline-to-baseine which seems off. The expected leading, which would still appear "spacious," imho would be about 16-18.
The Post Titles I can "live with," but the body text is really difficult to read without increasing my browser's zoom level.
Please consider using darker body text, and slight decrease, across the board in vertical spacing of all elements. I think you can have this slight vertical decrease without losing the "newer, more spacious" look, which is very pleasant.
In any case: change in format, from time to time, imho, is a good thing !

When you drop down the "Community" menu, the "Non-English Language" menu item seems to have a couple of flaws (I say "flaws" since they are a tiny bugs).
- Compared to the other menus with items that have sub-menus, this one appears to be aligned a bit too far to the left.
- When you hover you mouse over this item, the whole line turns orange (no visible text) and when you move the mouse into its sub-menu, you realize it is because the text color has changed to orange (on white). This is different from the other menus that have items with sub-menus.
Note: It seems like this gets corrected if you drop down one of the other menus (like "Articles") and move into one of the sub-menus, then go back to the "Community" menu. Sometimes the "Non-English Language" item is active (which actually also would appear to be a bug since the mouse is not hovering over any items in the menu) and correctly displayed as white on orange.
I am using IE8 on WinXP SP3, in case that matters.

When clicking on the logo (to navigate home) there is an Orange border appears that looks weird. It looks like a mistake even if it is deliberate.

Hi Chris,
The new ui is pretty flash, and no doubt will take some getting used to... The first thing I noticed, however, is that all user names appear grey, rather than the colour of the thread (as voted). This makes it more difficult to decipher if things are up/down voted...

Agreed 100%. This move towards grey on white is... what's the word I'm looking for... stupid. This is a developer's site for crying out loud - not a showcase for fine wine.
And PLEASE (excuse the shouting) reduce the extraneous vertical padding!

It causes a problem with the menus too. I mouse over "discussions" and the drop down menu list appears. But as I move my mouse down to the list, unless I move it very quickly, the list disappears before I can select from it. Pretty odd behaviour to say the least.
