I have already wrote all the code that uploads the excel spreadsheet, creates the active directory users, then enables the user's mailbox in Exchange. This is all working just fine.
In theory this type of import will not take a few seconds. You are talking about upload excel spreadsheets that contain numerous amounts of users (One client is 700 users for example).
So that is 700 calls to Active Directory that creates the user object, another 700 calls to add that new users to the correct security groups, then another 700 calls to Exchange using remote powershell to enable the user object for mail. Remote powershell is not that fast anyways.
I was really just looking for a type of tutorial or a working example of what I am looking for, which is just being able to relay information back to the client about which task the server is currently performing.

I forgot, that’s going to take awhile, maybe an hour or two. Maybe 4 or 5 hours. Writing to active directory isn’t that fast.

Well, if you look at windows update, or Microsoft virtual server, the web interface, that’s the most advance stuff that I have seen. I’m trying to think of more examples.
You can try the google forums, and I think Gmb something.
I don’t know of any turtorial, that’s probably going to be home brewed.
I tried some stuff in the past that worked, but then an update to asp.net came out and it killed my work.
Today I just avoid that stuff.
I would use uploadify to upload the excel file, attach uploadigy to a generic handler, process the excel file, return a json array to javascript with the names via generic handler, then create dynamic javascript and populate a div container using append, with progress updates, feed each user in 1 at a time through a web service to create each user, return json with the status when complete, loop again till done. When done, create a complete button via dynamic javascript.
Since the whole thing is ssl, and session protected, security should be covered. Generic handlers are session capable.
if you call a web service ssl, it will be ssl. You can tweak a web service to be session capable. Add some tokens to the javascript ajax for authentication, tweak the names to make it real confusing to the average joe.

I have a web page .On clicking of a button I get a modal popup(Ajax) which shows the the text box which is dynamically filled by the contents and it is inside a panel. This modal popup contains a print button. Once I do print then I take the innerhtml from the panel and open it in a separate window and this goes for printing. But as the text value is dynamic so the height of the text box is not fixed and hence when i do print so the part remaining in the scroll bar doenot print. Could you please let me know how exactly i can remove the scrool bar means I can adjust the height of the text area so that all the contents present in the text area can be printed.

So from the innerhtml of the panel can I get the textbox by the ID?

Well, you need to calculate the height then, and use the result in your JavaScript to re-size the text area. But then you have to pass it to the next page somehow.
The textarea scrollbar is the default for overflow, so you use CSS to either hide or show the overflow.
Maybe you should experiment with CSS first. CSS is pretty good for solving stuff like that. height: auto;
Oh, and that's a JavaScript question, and your post belongs in the java script discussion area. Your post has nothing to do with asp.net.

I am using the Asp.net system.diagnostics.process to command line execution of executable file

Problem:
The file cannot open return the error 000005 access denied error

when the executing the file via visual studio the problem not produce,

Using IIS? In that case, your app will not be running under a standard-user account; the ASP.NET account is limited in it's rights.

You cannot convert it into int. The maximum value of an int is 2,147,483,647.
Alternatively, if needed, try using UInt (4,294,967,295) or long (9,223,372,036,854,775,807).

That should be simpler than expanding row-wise. All you need to play with column visibility. Pre-populate the column at the time of grid content bind and based on an event just(click of a plus sign or so) set the visibility of the column to true. Try out!

I'm currently taking an HTML course and I'm seriously kicking myself with this one. Our professor released a very basic form in HTML (I will be including it at the end of the message) and it's pretty much a form to create an account and it asks some basic questions such as age and transport method.
He then released a continuation to that page which grabs all the information and depending on what you answered you get certain information on the screen. Pretty much an if exercise. He had us add a couple more options to test our coding skills and I cannot get the information to carry over.

After I input all the information on the htm form, the submit button does not carry out my information. It just refreshes itself and the same form appears on screen.

After you click submit, page reloads and quite a few events are fired that will let you handle information posted on form. You should override page_load event possibly checking the if it was postback and then process the information.
