Doesn't "native code" and "jit code" apply to embedded systems as well? Embedded systems must be broken further into those categories. And what is "native other"? Is that "native embedded" then? In one way, each of the options would apply to embedded systems as well!
The options must be reviewed.

I have never heard of an embedded system using JIT compilation - it normally would take longer than you would want, and would also mean that the compiler etc. would need to be present in the final image loaded into the hardware. Since processing power and space are normally at a premium in embedded designs, I can't see it catching on.

The .Net Micro Framework uses JIT for embedded devices. It has been open sourced by Microsoft too. I know there are some commercial devices that use it, but I've mostly heard of it for hobby developers by way of the Netduino[^].

What about GPU programming (eg, with OpenCL or CUDA)? I think it would fall under Native (Other), so there's a reason for it  .

It's multiple choice, so someone who did JIT embedded code could check both the JIT and the embedded checkbox.
