Are you saying that you have SQL Server stored procedures or other SQL Server code making a backup of user files??

i have a backup form in my application(vB.net) , i choose a folder ( with a folder dialog) and i want to backup sql database in that folder.
The code that i have in my first post , works for some folder but doesn't work on folders like c:\ , c:\users\... etc.
What can i do to backup sql database on every folder i choose.

I personally would use SMO objects to make your backup rather than sending a query to the database to perfom the backup.
For further reading Creating a SQL Server backup[^]. I know the example is C# but it is very easy to convert.
But as Dave has stated the key to the backup is making sure the user permissions are set up correctly.

Hi
I have Mdi screen in my project and many mdi child screens,one of these is set to allow maximize as true,after i open this screen and maximize it and then open another mdi child screen , the last screen is maximized automatically but i set the maximize property for it to false.
Any one can help me

If you maximize one MDI child, ALL the MDI children become maximized. There is no way to change that behavior. The Multiple Document Interface was designed so that your child forms are all the same form editing the same type of documents.
Chances are you're using MDI for a purpose for which it was not designed.
The only way to pull off the behavior you want is to alter your child forms so that instead of maximizing when the button is clicked, they instead resize themselves to the same size as the MDIClient control of the MDIParent form.

You'll have quite the busy day then...
I think you need to research what an operating system is, and how it works.
Plus, while I have no issues with VB, it's def the wrong tool in this case.

Why do I get the feeling that this is a troll? Doesn't make any sense at all. First you want an operating system, like Windows 7 no less!, and then you can't spend more than a day? An operating system takes months/years of development work, let alone testing, creating device drivers, low level controllers, etc...

In that case, you have no hope at all of make an operating system in VB6. It simply isn't possible.

It would be as willing to cross Atlantic Sea by swimming without knowing how to swim...

You are like kidding right? Operating Systems are not something you can build in a day, a week, or even longer. There is a lot that is involved, just to start File I/O, GUI, Memory Management, etc. Give this food for thought, think about how long all of the major OS manufacturers have been in business and the time it takes to roll out a new product.

My comment to your post is like others: Your message is funny!
Anyway, to develop an operating system, it takes time. Talking about years. So do plan you need several years to do so.
Secondly, usually I see people using C or C++ to program for an operating system. VB? I am not sure.
