first i have note that when yiu drag table to rdlc it's create default group with header & no footer
i create group in my tabe
but i need reoprt page header & footer that repeat each page
but i can't do it

I am receiving a HTTP 400 error when trying to upload an Excel spreadsheet with macros.
I am using an asp FileUpload control with the following server side script on the page:

Spreadsheets with macros are a requirement for this application.
I am able to upload Excel spreadsheets without macros, but when the spreadsheet contains a macro the operation results in a HTTP 400 error.
Does anyone know how I can resolve this problem?

I have favicon on my website on the root.
I add this code to master page.
I change the favicon file, but it still shows the old icon. What is the problem?

It could be the browser caching issue. Just close the browser and try it on new one. Or use Ctrl + F5.

Hi
Can anyone recommend a custom search engine control which allows you to specify the indexing. Namely has the ability to search through entire documents, just titles and possibly just authors. But must have the ability to search by all (like a standard search aswell). Some of the tools I've already been trying are the Keyoti Search for ASP.net which is great for general search btw. Also Karamasoft and findinsite but none have the options I require. Namely search just by title and then also be able to optionally search through content aswell. Also cannot be hosted!
I'm on the brink of building it from scratch but I want to exhaust all other options first.

If you feel adventurous you can implement search with lucene or my own hOOt project found here, the sample application is self explanatory and it is easy to get it up and running for a web site.

I have a aspx page with a number of DotNetCharting charts on it, some of these have controls to allow the source data on the chart to be changed causing a PostBack.
As only some of the Charts have this functionality they are in UpdatePanels so I don't have to re-create all the charts each time a PostBack occurs.
All the Charts are initialised by a common sub that sets their "TempDirectory" property to a directory under my app's root.
When the Page_Loads all the Charts are created correctly with their assoicated images in the TempDirectory I have specified.
Whenever a PostBack occurs to update the data in a Chart that Chart's Image is re-created in the TempDirectory as one would expect and the Chart is updated in its UpdatePanel - perfect.
However, empty "No Data" chart images are created at the app root for all the other charts each time an UpdatePanel is refreshed and DotNetCharting's housekeeping is not deleting them, as such a large number of "No Data" image files are accumulating in my app's root.
Any ideas anyone????

I have 3 different xml files .
I would like to be able to click on button 1,2 or 3 to display the contents of the corresponding xml file in a gridview control.
I have a string variable FILENAME that gets set in code on the appropriate button_click event to the proper xml file name.
The standard code for the xml data source is:
<asp:XmlDataSource ID="XmlDataSource1" runat="server" DataFile="~/eqlist.xml">
The above works correctly but I want to swap data files.
I've tried the following method for changing file name with no success - just gets a Path Error:
<asp:XmlDataSource ID="XmlDataSource1" runat="server" DataFile=<%"=FileName"%>>
I realize there's more to this project than I'm explaining here but this is current stumbling block.
Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong?

In your code behind button click event, you can change the datafile for the XMLdataSource like this:
me.XmlDataSource1.DataFile = "myfile.xml"
Will that work for you ?

Hi,
I have hyperlinks in each of the table rows and user is tranfered to a different page upon clicking. What I would like to have instead is that they click on the row rather than the hyperlink. How could I do it, while still keeping those hyperlinks.

There other ways you could achieve this but it will mostly revolve around setting an onclick for your row(s). You could call a function javascript way or jQuery way thats ya choice.

Can you use the onselect action and determine the row you are on and then take the url from link cell in that row and go to that link?

if you take a look, the tr onclick will take you to the link in the hyperlink below it.

And, if none of the other ways work, you can make every field the same hyperlink then use CSS to change the appearance so they don't look like hyperlinks. The user will still have to click text, but it won't matter which in the row.

Hello everyone, I am not much of a designer so I lack the artistic ability to make a crisp looking website for anyone. And so in that case, I use templates made by actual designers.
I am trying to use a template for my MVC 3 application from this website: http://www.freecsstemplates.org/[^]
Anyways, the template comes with the folder of images, the index.html file, and the style.css txt file. I would really like to use this template for my application. I've looked around for similar topics on the internet and none of the tutorials I found really helped me.
I would really appreciate any help you could give me.

The best thing to do is to download the files and figure out which parts of the css target which elements in index.htm. If you are new to this w3schools has a CSS Selectors Syntax[^] that should help you figure out what is going where, the main css tutorial[^] provides some good examples.
I'd start by including the css in your mvc project, then adding the html elements to your view. Note that and id and class attributes are going to be very important, as is the nesting of the elements.

I dont know if this is the correct place for this question,
but here it is:
I have developed a media player in vb.net.
The app works great.
And now I'm thinking of expanding it with
remote control capabilities from ethernet or internet.
Like you push a button on a asp.net web page, and something happens
in your vb.net application on yor computer.
I have searched around for a solution. But Im confused.
Some speaks of web services, cassini web server, apache mod_aspdotnet.
Could you help me in the right direction to find a solution for this?
Links and examples are appreciated.
