That sounds unnecessarily complex. I also see nothing wrong with a little cultural education. If India or Australia or France have a special event happening, special enough that it affects the entire country, I think it's important we all at least be aware of this.
You're suggesting this because you don't want to see the Lycra come out for the final stage of the Tour de France. I have the image ready.

I'm 55. I don't care about other cultures and can no longer be "educated". My suggestion was merely a personalization thing that NO other website currently implements. And like I suggested, if someone really want's to see the "other" holidays, they can turn 'em on in their profile. If you want to keep it simple, you could just restrict it to three checkboxes:
0) No holidays
1) Your country's holidays only
2) All holidays
3) Your bi...
FOUR! These FOUR checkboxes:
0) No holidays
1) Your country's holidays only
2) All holidays
3) Your birthday
On all non-holidays, the default image would reflect your current user icon (MVP, mentor, admin, etc)
I don't see how that's too complex. Each country could have it's own folder of holiday Bobs, and you could even ask for submissions from users, maybe have little mini-contests or something.
I only suggested this because you were posting in the Lounge yesterday, and i figured you had some free time on your hands.

It is a ploy to stop DD posting the 1,250,000th post in the Lounge, and thn forever reminding us of the fact.

The Maunder effect has come into play. He's removed the figures because he thinks they've been causing the crashes, bangs, wallops and billowing smoke over the last couple of days (since the new servers were put in place and Web21 went to join the server farm in the sky).

I have found a small layout issue and hope this is not reported.

Place the mouse over the Rating Stars in Solution1 and a Voting Contribution Graph will be displayed.But the issue is, the Report icon is also visible on top of the voting contribution graph. You can see the report menu on mouse over it.

You change the Bob image on some global festivals. I made some logos for Indian festivals and shared it on GIT in last few months. I am informed by Kunal[^] that I should better ask you if this is permissible. I can send you the images if you wish.

Please do email full res images and maybe even the raw psd files to Chris. That's the one thing CP's never been good at, showcasing Asian festivals like they do with American/Canadian/British ones.
You might want to give Chris some dates too so he knows when what festival falls and what it's associated with
