Hello,
i am having lots of problems with previewing imdb trailer video on my android phone. I tryed embbed webview(flash), but as i figured out, its only supported on android 2.2+(froyo). I am working for 2.1. So i was wondering if anyone has idea where to get link from searched video by title, so i could put it in stream and play it with video player on android phone?

Hi,
My Company is servicing "Government-paid" and "School" employees and students phones, and we are therefore forced to seek and undertake serious security measures to restrict cellphone usage of these clients, mainly about their internet and messaging use.
Our core focus is to have a customized phone firmware which should restrict Data & Messaging access of any kind. This firmware should also disable the loader, the client should not have the capability to flash another firmware on it.
I was advised to look into Motorola model phones like the V-W Series, mainly because the newer phones have lots of back-ends which is hard to prevent.
I was assigned to research to get this done, and I would like to ask the professionals on this form on how to proceed.
Any advice is highly appreciated!

I am building a Windows Mobile Application for work and I am having an issue. I tried using VB and was successful but it is buggy and did not want to deal with all the bugs involved so I am gonna try C#.
I have the base which is a tabbed webrowser and several menu items.
What I cannot figure out is how to make one of those menu items link to a webpage in the browser.
So basically I have a menu item I want to link to a website and not sure what code I would use to do this.

Hi all,
i m sending SMS by using
SmsManager sms = SmsManager.getDefault();
sms.sendTextMessage(phoneNumber, null, message, sentPI, deliveredPI);
its working fine and successfully send a standard sms that is automatically saved in recipient mobile inbox.
i want send the sms as flash(notification) sms by this,that message should be displayed immediately on recipient mobile screen but not stored.
please tell me how can i do this.

Perhaps you can create a class 0 (don't store) SMS message (to be sent) whose isMwiDontStore()[^] method returns false?

The trick is to be able to specify class 0 mode ("flash" SMS) using the MessageClass.CLASS_0[^] value. I'm still trying to figure out how/where to specify this. Not sure if this is done by creating an SmsMessage instance using createFromPdu()[^].

HI,
I am using nokia 663o. The problem with my mobile is that whenever a new message is received it is stored in phone memory rather than sim as there is lot of space in sim. I want new sms to be received in sim. I dont know how to solve this.

I want to know that how to count the number of messages in sim memory and how to get the index of last message stored in memory using c#.I dont have any idea how to do this. I am using At command for "AT+CMGR=index" for reading sms. But i dont know how to get the index number of last message stored in memory.

Thanks a lot for ur help.I can get the index now. But i have one problem in reading sms from mobile to pc whenever a new message is received using AT command AT+CMGL. It reads sms that are already stored in inbox but does not give new message notification. I want to get new message notification in c# by using AT+CMGL or AT+CMGR instead of AT+CNMI as my mobile does not support this command.
If u have sample code it would be appreciated.

Sorry, i have never done any SMS coding.
However, thinking logically at the problem, if your phone/modem does not support the CNMI notification command, then you should be looking at using the message store message sizes and store that locally in a set of registers.
After any operation you perform send/delete/create etc, update the registers with the message store size you obtained from your original question.
The periodically while your software is idle (i.e. you are not sending/reading/deleting etc) repeat the message store size retrieval and compare to the registers. If they have increased you can say a new message has arrived.
Seams like a reasonable way to do things, and looking at the available commands on the website i gave you earlier, all the information to do this is within.
As i said, i haven't done any of this SMS stuff before, so don't have any source code to share.

Its depend on your personal interest, which platform you are targeting like i-Phone, Windows Mobile/Phone7, Android and so on.
Objective C basically used to developed i-Phone based application.
C#, VB and C++ are used to developed windows mobile based application.
C#, VB (Beta) with Silverlight are used to developed for windows Phone7 based application.

A new option for developing mobile applications using c# is mono. For example, http://mono-android.net/ for developing Android applications using c# and http://monotouch.net/ for developing iPhone and iPad applications using C#.
It should be possible to develop with a largely single code base for your mobile application on both iOs and Android using mono. The ui part will be specific for each platform.
Note that both application frameworks are not free.
