You can change your vote now. Try it with any article that you already voted for, it will say "You voted X for this article. Revote?" to the left of the voting buttons (X is the rating you gave).
Not sure if it works if you voted long ago, before the system was changed.

Thats not what the OP means. He wants to offer a 2nd or 3rd vote simply because the author has been consistently providing updates.

Well the author could branch into a new article every time he releases a really major update. That way people who use it can give him a deserving vote once again. And the old versions remain archived too.
I've experienced this in my articles when I update them to a newer version of VS or .NET. Someone will mail me asking if I still have thd old version! So archiving older versions is not that bad an idea.

Sure, you sometimes need old versions - that is service too! But that way you are losing all the previous updates notes (after all this is your decision), and will the older versions contains all bug fix ? Even for you it is a difficult point.
Well, it is only a suggestion. Because I get fustrated when I have already given somebody a 5 and I think the article deserve more. Also I generally don't post kudos comments. Not that I don't want to cheer on authors but I prefer useful technical comments.

While I agree that sometimes I too want to give an author an 11, I feel the current system is the simplest and fairest.

Hi,
i am a codeproject user, i have forgot my password. I got a alternate password and i am able to login my account using it but my problem is i am unable to change it. when i go to settings page an write a new password and save it, it does not change and i am unable to login again using my new password.
Can anybody help me....

Answered in the lounge:
If you can't remember your password, then if you sign out (or better just visit a different computer to do this) then there is a "Lost password" link to the right of the log in box at the TRHC of the screen.
If you click it, it takes you here: Code Project: Send password[^] and it should all be obvious from there!

this i have done and i have already recieved the temporary password. I am able to login using temporary password but when i want to change the password after that i am unable to do so...

When you log in using the temporary password, right click on your username in the TRHC of any page, and select "My Settings".
Enter your new, desired password in both the boxes "Password" and "Password confirm", then press the "Save my Settings" button at teh bottom of the screen. Should be job done!

I tried changing my password too but not working as well. I fill up the Password and Confirm Password text box then click on Save My Settings. It then redirect me to an error page.

I know this is the third thread about it, but they really do need to be put back into their own tabs again. I was perusing the latest "Articles" and went on a 1-voting spree because all of the "articles" were too short and had no source download. By the time I reached thabout the 20th "article by the same author, I realized they were *BLOG ENTRIES*! I had to go back and unvote on all of his stuff.
This really is a change for the worse, guys.

You found a way to unvote? I'd like to know how that goes... (in fact I would like to have a way to undo every voting, bookmarking, moderating, and maybe even reporting action).

Yes, that should work as your vote pertains to some article/tip/blog but is associated with your message, which you can delete as long as it is a leaf message. Under most circumstances the vote/bookmark/moderation is associated with something you can't delete...

I don't think it does that. If you don't want to vote a 5, vote a 3. That will at least remove the down vote.

For me, the bigger problem (that I've already communicated) is the fact that proper articles will now suffer from a visibility perspective. I mean, it sucks that I can spend 2 weeks on an article only for it to be blown off the front page by someone blogging about the release of a new service pack for visual studio (which probably took him 10 minutes). Not trying to say all blogs suck, but the nature of blogs is different from that of articles.
