I was just afgter some indication that we had taken action on a pending item. Maybe a green checkmark for approved, and a red "X" for reported?

In this[^] question in Q&A, the OP had edited it to indicate that he had resolved the issue.
Out of the kindness of my heart, to save others reading it unnecessarily and at great cost to my time-management system I attempted to edit the subject to include "[SOLVED]".
However, it would not take. after a couple of attempts and a great deal of refreshing (Ctl-F5) "[SOLVED]" showed up as a tag but the subject stubbornly remained pristine.
Is this designed behaviour? Elevensies time for the hamsters or entirely my fault?
My money is on 'my fault'. It usually is.

Only if marked as solved by the OP.
I think, I could be wrong on this though, that they are only marked as you describe when an answer is accepted. Since there were no answers this one couldn't be marked 'solved' in this way.
I'm probably wrong again and it's almost certainly my fault.

[EDIT] Holy shnikies...I just hit ctrl f5 for the 3.51 millionth time and it now works.

I had an issue where instead of the icons it was words, and Ctrl-F5 worked.
Sorry, I am at a loss otherwise.
Hopefully those better versed in the Dark Arts will provide you with an incantation or potion to fix it.

Okay, we all know that a troll wants attention - whether they are replies, abuses, down-votes, or people just talking about them. Don't give them that, they go away.
So where's the problem? Problem's that people reply to a troll, engage him in conversation, abuse him, and generally do everything possible to make sure he comes back every day!
Here's my proposal :
(1) Vote for removal any troll attempts by the troll
(2) Vote for removal any post that's a reply to (1)
The big thing with (2) is that regular members will find that if they respond to a troll, their post will be voted down / removed. Many people care about rep scores, so this alone would stop them doing it. And assuming they don't care about rep scores, they will still not like seeing their post shown as auto-removed.
If you like this suggestion, please give me a show of hands. If about 7 to 8 of us (Gold or higher status members) can actively do this, then I think we can solve the troll problem.
