It remains that the WYSIWIG editor is buggy though (as an FYI)
In all the pre blocks I've done, I've not escaped anything by hand at all, I've simply copy/pasted from my code files (this done in HTML view ofc).
The editor has then made the syntax highlighting and (partial ) escaping on the code.
But workaround noted should I run into this again.

Alternatively, if you're pasting in, check the 'Encode "<" (and other HTML) characters when pasting' in the Options below the message.

Hadn't really noticed that toggle.
It's on by default - which explains why I was struggling (not understanding) what was going on when sometimes pasting bits and pieces.
Seeing as the top of the editor window here has 3 distinct buttons for <,> and & respectively - Wouldn't it be nice with one for "encode selected text" as well 
I mean, if I'm writing stuff, say about html formatting, I'd end up using a lot of <'s and >'s, and having to move to the mouse to click those buttons for each (or writing the escape code by hand) is a tad cumbersome.
Just writing normally, and then when done mark up the text, and click that button would be sweet.
Not a huge priority I agree - Just a "nice to have".
- workaround is of course to just type your text normally, and then ctrl+a/ctrl+x/ctrl+c (with the encode option checked) - Which I just did

Hey guys,
I was just going through some of my answers in the Q&A and noticed that this one had been marked as the correct answer and then unmarked. There is nothing wrong with the points allocation, but I find it curious that (at least for me) the answer still has the "accepted" green background? Is this behavior what was intended? If not, my QA's would be proud of me for finding a bug instead of just creating them.
I wasn't, now I am, then I won't be anymore.

The Beginners Hardware and Device Programming Competition was supposed to end on February 28th but I haven't heard anything about it. I noticed that the hardware zone seems to have been completely removed from the site as well and the only way I can even see that the competition existed is by using the link I saved from when I first saw it. Was the competition cancelled?

The Hardware Zone was down in error. We had extended the Hardware competition to allow some more entrants, and wanted to wait a bit to allow the later submissions a fair chance in the voting. The winners will be decided this week

Hello,
Tow small issues:
1. It is impossible to upvote / downvote any of the messages from my BB phone. Simply the links are not there... And I can see my name on top so I've logged in.
2. Apart of that it would be ![Green Alien | [Alien]](https://codeproject.global.ssl.fastly.net/script/Forums/Images/alien.gif) tastic to have the text window not as wide as it is today as it makes it really difficult to write any message from the phone.

Curve 3G here... I can turn it sideways but then it gets difficult to use... 
Does your phone works well? was tempted to get it but I was so happy with my old curve that I decided to stick there.

Wow! Never used neither seen one, but some time ago I read at crackberry bad reviews for the storm... I do have bad experiences with touch screens in old phones and reading that bad review put in my mind the idea that ths storm was a bad phone and that bb did made a mistake making it. It has surprised me to read that you missed it. In which issues the storm is better than the torch?

I had the Curve II. I tried playing around with CodeProject to make it Blackberry friendly, since that was my only offsite access some days, and finally realised I was fighting a losing battle. I bought an iPhone.
Joking aside, we don't have the resources at the moment to optimise for the old blackberry browser. We sunk a ton of dev time ensuring the site functions with no javascript because of the Blackberry JAaascript engine being best turned off since it was that awful. BB OS 6 uses a WebKit based browser. I can't recommend enough that Blackberry users upgrade if they wish to have a device that can browser the web sensibly.

It looks like you can create a question with a very short subject: certainly less than 30 characters.
But when you edit the question, you are prevented from updating it, because the subject length is too short. Up it to 30, and it works.

I think the 30 character minimum length is a little harsh. I think you could come up with valid and informative question titles with less than 30 characters. I would like to see a reasonable maximum for question titles though.

Yes, you can come up with questions shorter than that, but that doesn't mean your question will be well-worded, or worded well enough to want to be answered by someone.
I'm happy to field examples of questions less than, say, 25 characters for which the inclusion of extra characters is painful enough, and will cloud the original question enough, that a shorter limit should be considered.

I saw a question, I think last week sometime, where the poster put a bunch of dots ............. to make up the 30 character minimum.
WPF: Databinding Error (is an example that I just made up that is concise and less than 30 characters long)
Maybe I am looking at this the wrong way but I feel that question titles need to be descriptive, short, and to the point. You don't need to put your life story in a question title...it's the title not the question. The title should get our attention.
The extra characters is not painful, it looks unprofessional and annoying but again that is my opinion.
Just my 2 cents on the subject.
