Yuck!
It Implies more importance to views and scores than it does to the questions.
It looks too 'busy'.
There is too much information at that level, and whilst stats can be useful, they should be more unobtrusive as a first page item, and perhaps have the more comprehensive breakdown on the Question page rather than on the gateway page.
And all the tabs as separate blocks underneath spoil the general readability.
Just my 2d.

Having the answer count (an important metric for those browsing questions to see which need some lovin') on the right was too much of a separation. Bringing it to the left made it trivial to connect answer count and question.
Leaving the view count on the right looked...odd. Removing it would have caused howls of protest (though I'm still tempted). Removing the vote count and replacing it with a single star if it's upvoted seemed, to me, a reduction in noise and a devaluing of the importance of scores.

Readability of the question, or readability of the tags that are a decider for many as to whether they'll read the question? Suggestions? Dim the box?

I cringe when I ask this, but here goes: What activity are you doing in Questions and Answers that isn't showing up.
Remember - this is a PG site, and the "too much information" rule also applies.
(However, "last activity" is currently restricted to edit/answer, not comment. This needs to be added)

Well, I answersed a couple, and my user ID doesn't appear after doing so. I also edited a couple of times, and it doesn't show up there either.

Using IE7 on Vista...
At the bottom of the page where it shows "Page 1 [1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8...]"
There's some sort of weird overlay thing happening, and the first few numbers insize the bracket are overlayed with other numers. Going to the next page(s) doesn't appear to fix it.
EDIT =========
For a second (if I'm fast enough), I see that it starts out correctly by saying this:
Page 1 of n [1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10]
But then some refromatting event occurs, and the bracketed numbers slide to the left so that it looks like this:
Page 1###### 5 6 7 8 9 10]
Where the ###### indicates an overlayed character.

The CSS and much of the layout has been updated, so maybe a Ctrl+F5 will help. In IE compatibility mode (== IE7 standard) it's all good for me.

Fixed.
There was a unclosed tag in the second answer.
Strangely enough FF managed to show the page perfectly where chrome and IE messed up.

That happens from time to time, whenever the hamster get bored (or after a big party weekend) they just pick out one member at random to mess with a bit.
This usually continues until Chris show's up with the taser to get them to work again.

Banning jokes from the lounge will make it a pretty dry place, and I for one don't feel like sending a member a "You're joke has been moved because it's in the wrong place. Mis-catagorising posts is no laughing matter" email.

I would like to emhpasize that the word "properly" isn't necessarily associated with the "humor" we see in thejokes in the lounge lately. We've been asking for a jokes forum wor - oh - nine years now, as well as a sports forum, and a CCC forum.
