What happened to the forums list down the left hand side? While I appreciate all the space available for typing in, I miss the easy access to the forums. I'm using Chrome 8.0.552.224.

The navigation pane has been coming and going for about a week. This has been sporadic on FF, however I haven't noticed it the last 3 days or so. And it seems to be very consistent now with both IE7 and Chr7.
[UPDATE] It is happening now on FF3.6 also, and worse than ever: about 50% probability on all forums; still better than the other two browsers I keep around. [/UPDATE]

I had no idea how to post this as a subject here...
I was just looking at my rep score and noticed that in a matter of 5 minutes, my Authority rep score jumped by 120 points.
Upon checking my answers, I found that I have been receiving a blanket of 5 votes.
I'd like to think I'm just really, really awesome and that someone finally noticed, but even my ego isn't big enough to think there isn't something weird going on...
You guys may wish to look into this.

From time to time I go through answers that are still unrewarded.
Today I had a couple of your's that needed my desperate attention.
It wasn't more than 5 or 6 answers, so maybe it still doesn't account for 120 rep points.

I'm just wondering if this would perhaps be a way to filter out a bunch of the questions that simply require a "search google" answer.
When a user is posting a question, before they submit it perhaps they could verify that they have read the first recommendation in the info section below the submit button with a checkbox or a validation that they have understood to "check google" before submitting a question here.
This could cut down on the volume of silly questions that seem to come in to the site.
(Just the ramblings of a cratchety old man on Sunday morning...)

True, but that could lead to an easier way to have these types of questions removed from the pool quickly. These questions don't usually qualify as abusive, so I would be very hesitant to flag them as that, but I still think they should be removed at some point...
But then again, I'm probably just a little to anal retentive about that type of thing.

The easiest way is to actually re-tag blatantlylazy questions with "GoogleMe" or something, and then add this tag to your ignored list of attributes within Quick Answers. We as a community should work towards improving the quality of the questions.

Has anyone else noticed that sometimes, you can't use shift- or ctrl-arrow keys to move around while editing a comment? I went back to try to duplicate it (in Q/A), but I couldn't. The place I noticed it was in an alternate Tips/Trick, which doesn't make sense because it appears to be the same editor as the one used in Q/A.

Exactly right John. I just tested and CTL-Left works fine in a QA comment but not in a Tips/Tricks one; most strange.

When I try to edit one of my comments the editing text area always comes up as empty.
I can edit my Q&A answers just fine (also forum posts). Somehow only the comments seem to be affected by this.
This bug is observed both in FireFox and IE8. Is anybody else observing this?
