it may indeed be what you suggest with the commas, but at any rate even if he did it that way he would end up with words being split and not the characters.
One of the nice things with strings in php is you can treat them as an array and just step through them.

I think this is what happened. You misused the str_replace() function. If you will check the documentation for it. What you actually did was find an occurrence of "," and replace it with " " and then you searched for "," on your explode(). The character no longer exists by then. Try interchanging the first two arguments of your str_replace(). I think that should do.

First of all where do you want to store your login information? Websites over the internet obviously use a database but you can actually store it in a file if it will be a really simple login. Storing and retrieving information from those storages differ. Also, where are you running your PHP scripts? Do you use XAMPP, WAMPP, etc.? They could be helpful if you're planning to do the "database" approach.

I am confusing about writing CGI script in .NEt project.
My localhost is configured properly and am able to run web application successfully.
Can any one suggest how can I run script through web?
Is there any IIS settings need to set manually?

There are three parts.
1. Create a perl script that correctly and safely implements CGI.
2. Configure IIS to run perl
3. Configure IIS to accept 2 as a CGI source.

The first can be discovered by research.
However there is at least on Perl book devoted solely to CGI from O'Reilly. And it is covered in other Perl O'Reilly books as well.

now i got 1 massive script and i hope u can just point to me what it is i should be looking for. i need a form for visitors to upload image (if more than 1, the script can make it in a thumbnail) and also the form also have fields for the user to put a description on it. when they uploaded the images and text, it must and can be viewed openly by other visitors. here is a sample web that im trying to copy

as u can see, when a person uploaded their ads there, others can search their upload using its search engine (the serch engine i got from youtube and the web dont display images) and when a person click on a certain ads, it will be shown in a single page for example

those are just a sample what im trying to do.

What do you mean with how can I add template to PHP.
Do you want to use a template for the visual part so that you can easily switch the part of the website visitors see. If so look into Smarty which enables you to create flexible templates and seperate the front-end look of a website from the back-end logic.

I have a slight problem which io hope someone might be able to help me with...

As you can see this would not show as a proper link because of the spaces in the last bit of the url
is there a way that i could say use this
http://www.something.something/profile/index.php?profile_id=The_Long_Knives
And have some php take out the _ before the page opens, i presume this would be some sort of function in php but not being that up with it am not sure, also if the user puts the original url with the spaces it must use that.

The better way is to use urlencode. Thats the best way to get rid of spaces.

When user visit www.site1.com i need to set cookie with time of visit.
Then when user visit www.site2.com or www.site3.com i need to read cookie from www.site1.com so i know visitor time.
Is there way to set one cookie for multiple websites or multiple cookies for diferent sites?

You should find what you want by making use of a database session manager instead of the default one in php. You can google this and find a number of articles on how to implement this. Besides sharing the session data between different domains you can also use this for load balancing multiple servers.

And how would you identify a session without setting it in a cookie that multiple sites can access. (Which cannot be done btw.)
You can set cookies for multiple of domains, or even easier call an image (PHP file) of another website that sets the cookie for you. (EG: call example2.com/images/cookie.php?mydta=1 from example.com)

you forgot that a session ID can also be stored in a url, which can be passed between the user and server. all session data would have to be stored in a common session database and you may still need to make custom session functions.
