This one has been bugging me for quite some time already (I also trust it has been signaled before, but maybe a reminder is what it needs):
while editing a message, pasting some text causes the textbox to scroll back to the top. This is a nuisance, especially for longer messages.
Example: a reply to some question requires some code; I create the text and paste the code, and ask for a preview. I decide to change the name of a variable in the code, so I replace it once by typing, then want to copy-paste-paste-paste; now the window scrolls up each time, requiring a lot of eye and hand movements to compensate.

This used to happen earlier when using FF3.0, and now happens FF3.6; I just discovered it does not happen on Chrome 6.0 (I don't want to get chromatized permanently!)

This is, unfortunately, a quirk of Firefox and it's ridiculous lack of clipboard support. I haven't found a way to get around it.

Ah. I know remember you answering in similar words to some other message before (not mine).
I trust you did report the problem to Mozilla. (With a few  maybe?)
Anyone knows a good FF add-on to remedy the scroll? (BTW add-ons are a major factor in me liking FF).

it has happened several times recently (say the last 2 or 3 days), and just happened again in a programming forum: pasting a valid URL did not cause any magic to happen. It did not wait for anything, just pasted as is. So I fixed it manually, and published. No time-outs were noticeable.
FF3.6.9 (black socks this time).

In particular, I'd love to be able to do some callouts like the articles in Reader's Digest. There, they use them to quote some climactic or memorable line, but they'd be great for highlighting an issue of concern or for including tips and tricks in the articles.
I'm considering using the combination nav-right-sidebar (which, oddly, removes the left padding) and container-contents (which adds padding back) for this, but I doubt it will survive an edit (though it might convince the editor of it's usefulness, if I use it tastefully), and it won't allow me to balance the non-graphical elements by placing some of them on the left.
I tried using the combination warning and float-right/left, but they don't have a width or even a max-width, which really ruins the effect of a floating callout. Oh, and yes, I even tried callout, but again, no width.
Likewise, trying to emulate collapsed code in the <pre>...</pre> region, I tried using a box style, but it doesn't quite work correctly. I can't even get the Caption style to position image captions properly. (Of course, you could probably create a bit of wizardry to even make expandable/collapsable text, but I'd be happy with a Potempkin version.
I kept wondering why I found almost no mention in the article FAQ on styles dedicated for use in articles, but I finally concluded that you just don't have many requests for it.
Anyway, it's something to think about. It might make for some ugly articles if abused, but reading through some of the postings here, I'm under the impression that the resultant increase wouldn't be detectable. But then, I'm not an editor, so I don't know if the majority of really wacked articles are because people don't use the tools here, or if it's because they abuse the tools here.

Have you tried the callout style? If you have anything specific letme know. We don't mention because we don't encourage. excessive styling diminishes one's ability to scan and read. Used judiciously, it can be handy though.

I did try the callout, but IIRC, it doesn't have a width. I can keep trying different combinations, but what would really tickle my fancy is a nav-left-sidebar. I like the subtle background change, rounded corners and shadow, but the nav- part makes me think it might not be a good idea. How about a right- and left-sidebar? They should be almost cut & paste!
A code-collapsed like you're box style, but with padding and margins better adjusted to match how collapsed code looks in Visual Studio would be pretty great, too. I can upload my own boxed-plus sign icon.
Let me look at this again tomorrow and I'll try and get more specific style definitions.

You'll notice that the right-sidebar is the same as nav-right-sidebar, but it's defined for another use. Separating them allows you to later make article-consistency independently of your hosting controls.
If I can figure out how to do a code-collapsed style, I'll get back to you. (I can't believe how difficult this is.)

I found that pagination in Q&A is not working properly. It was working fine till yesterday.
Currently, even after clicking the page number directly (or using Next link to move to other page), Page1 is always highlighted.
Additional observations:
1. Click on page numbers directly - URL changes as per the page number clicked. Data of the expected page shown BUT page number highlightes is still '1'. User is confused on which page he is.
2. Click on Next link - irrespective on which page you are(one can see in URL to know/verify), clicking next shows/displays data of Page2 always => For next link, Previous page is always Page1
3. Since the Page is always set to '1' in the pagination, 'Previous' link is never enabled.
Did Cntrl+F5 couple of times.
Browser: IE8
Server: Web21, Web18

We've got the option to bookmark article's, tips, and even forum-messages. Is it possible to export the bookmarks over RSS? 's not very efficient to be clicking "next" on each page when you're looking for a bookmark, and it would save me some time browsing if they were accessible in FF.
If the RSS isn't an option (due to privacy-concerns or the likes), could we get a button that mails them as a file?

There appears to be a problem with using the navigation links at the bottom of the Latest Updates page (the navigation links at the top of the page appear to be working OK).
On first selection of the page clicking on the Next link moves you to page 2 of the updates, although the page number at the bottom of the page still shows page 1. The First and Prev links are not clickable. Clicking on the Next link again does not move you onto page 3 - it merely reloads page 2.
If you move onto page 3 using the links at the top of the page and then click Next link at the bottom of the page you get returned to page 2
The Last link at the bottom of the page appears to work fine, although the page number is still displayed as 1, the First and Prev links are not clickable and the Next link is still clickable (and returns you back to page 2)
Using IE6 (sorry about that, not my choice )
