This information is not enough. Please check Event Viewer for more traces of the error. There can be multiple reasons for failure of setup.

I have solved this issue by
going to Programs and Features / Turn Windows Features on or off / Internet Information Service / Web Management Tools / IIS6 Management Compatibility.

No my problem is when i install from setup it also install codefile(.aspx.cs) along with .aspx pages
also I have used asp menu in a page which is not displayed when i run from the IIS. while it got displayed when i run from visual studio.

Please help.

Hello

My database has lots of german data stored. While I read it and display in the gridview, everthing works fine. The Grdview displays the german characters perfectly in the browser.

After the display phase, I read a data from the gridview cells as gridview1.rows[1].cells[2].text, it returns special characters. For eg, 1st row, 2nd column in gridview has ä which is displayed in the browser properly, when I read the same from codebehind, it shows ä

How to set it right? any help is deeply appreciated.

That's another representation of the same character; similar to decimal or binary being another representation of a number.

It should display correctly as "A umlaut" when you display it again in the browser, or when you save it to a file. Conversely, you could try to check the string using a Debug.WriteLine statement.

Well, I am acutally exporting the datatable to Excel. And I dont see ä in excel, instead I see the numbers and special characters. How to make the excel display ä?

You can reverse the HTML-coding using the HtmlDecode[^] method Smile | :)

Hi guys,

I have 3 submit buttons on a single page. Each submit button is linked to its controls via a "ValidationGroup". One of the groups even has a Custom Validator. The problem I am having is that the validation is not even firing. I have no idea why. I hope the answer is not silly Frown | :(

Here is the HTML for ONE of the groups:

Oh dear!

I solved it. just for others to know my silly mistake...

I need to make the "ValidationGroup" for each button of the each group the same as what was applied in the controls of that group.

e.g.

<asp:Textbox id="txt1" runat="server" ValidationGroup="Validation1"></asp:TextBox>
<asp:RequiredFieldValidator id="rfv1" runat="server" ValidationGroup="Validation1"></asp:RequiredFieldValidator>
<asp:Button id="btn1" runat="server" ValidationGroup="Validation1"></asp:Button>
<asp:ValidationSummary id="vs1" runat="server" ValidationGroup="Validation1"></asp:ValidationSummary>

hi, iam using asp.net with c#;

iam having 5 textboxes

textbox1==username
textbox2=how many images on top of the page
textbox3=how many images on bottom of the page
textbox4=how many images on left of the page
textbox5=how many images on right of the page

and a button to create

when user click on button then new page is created with username and image controls are displayed on top,bottom,right ,left and with there events

then user can upload the images with browse upload control .

how to do this can you give me example which helps me

you can create a user control contain 5 textboxes and a button
and write a function to deal with under the event of Button_click
