You can use XSLT files as a email template, and using XslTransform class by passing content(dataset/xml) you can transform it to mail content.
Try to google this, you will definitely find some samples on this.

I assume you are using Windows Forms?
In that case all forms in your application have these properties:
ShowInTaskbar : If true, your form will be displayed in the taskbar. It's probably best to set this only for the main form to true.
Icon: Here you can assign an icon to the form. If the form is shown in the taskbar, this icon will be used.

I've been trying to figure out which is better to use to monitor or accept parameter from vb6 app.my colleague keep on insisting to use web service which i think is not better because were not even using web for the system we're developing.

Webserives are not only meant for web applications, it’s a service and can be subscribed from any type of application.
Can you explain what do you mean by monitor or accept parameter from vb6.

thank you for your response... i actually get the idea that web service can be subscribed from any type of application...but i wanna know if we should use web service in our application or just a window console or window service...co'z the reason my colleague don't want use to use console app is that it eats memory a lot which i doubt...about accepting a parameter from vb6 app...am trying to get the user request which is using a vb6 app, for example, the user request for a function "new account" the app which am developing in c# will get that parameter and check the database if the user can use that function base on the max allowed user per function.by the way, the c# app will be residing in the server and the vb6 app are on client side...thank you again

Depends - what kind of interaction do you want with your VB app?
I would not recommend Windows services - it's a Bad Thing to have a Windows service interact with the user desktop, and I believe this is not even possible on Wista/7.

I would like suggestions(or modifications) on ways to architect the following:
Goal is to create a set of sql server reports 2008 that has a table of contents and
is exported to word 2003 or word 2007.
1. I am going to have each sql server report 2008 as separate RDL files.
2. I am going to tie all the repoirts together in a C#.NET application
by Building Reports from the Object Collection using ReportViewer.
3. I then need to create a table of contents that exports to word. To accomplish this task I am thinking of a. either using jquery so that I can add auto TOC generation, and/or b. write a .net embedded custom application on each report that will obtain the report name and page number from the report footer. The data will then written to a 'table of contents' sql server database that will be used to help generate the table of contents.
Let me know what your thoughts are and/or any modifications you may have.,

I am working on a project that takes 30 images from file, stuffs them in an array and displays them sequentially in a random order. There is a 30 second delay between each image, like a slide show, and no image can be displayed more than once. I got everthing down except for the dont display the same image twice and the end the sequence once every image was displayed. Here is my code.

It is not completely obvious how that avoids duplicates. 
I would be inclined to collect images, not numbers; and pick one out of an "available" collection, not stuff them in a "used" collection.

Did you notice some similarity between those lines? Take advantage of it, write a simple 2-line loop that does exactly the same, saving over 1000 characters (and keystrokes?).

How about loading your images into a List<Bitmap>. Apply a random Sort algorithm, then create a Queue<Bitmap> from the list.
Now you can just dequeue each image as you display it.

Yes, and while we're at it: Why load all these bitmaps in advance at all? I would only load the one currently selected for display. For selection an array of filenames will suffice. This will go a little easier on the memory.
With 30 bitmaps this may not appear important, but still it is a waste of memory. Ans when one day the program is expanded to support 300 bitmaps (or 30000, 3000000 ...) you will get to see something I have not seen since the days of the old C64: An out of memory exception.
