It's usually not the request that is split, but a number of requests that get balanced between computers that can handle them. The most cited example would be a webserver, where any server might fetch the page. If the systems handle the same requests by dividing the work, then I'd say that it probably scales well.

Right clicking on a web project presents the option to publish a web site to a directory, ftp or other destination.
Does anyone know if that publish action can be automated so that I can trigger a build/publish/deployment application (I have to publish to a directory and then package that to deploy on the server).
Does anyone have an MSBuild project that publishes their project to a directory automatically?
Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Of course.
Right click your solution
Select add new project
go to Other Project Types and select Web Setup project
Once the project is added to the solution, right click on it
select add output
In the dialog, select the web application you want to publish
Select all the items appear below the project except the source code
click ok
build the setup project
Now, you have itforeach(Minute m in MyLife)

I may not understand this completely, but I believe this creates an executable that I would run on a web server. I don't have shell access on my server.
What I'm really looking for is something that would automate publishing to a directory. I have my own tools that will wrap that up and handling updating my web server.
Is there an MS Build action that will do this?

Run that exe on your server and it will do most of the work on behalf of you

Try being a little bit more specific. Do you mean java portlets? jQuery portlets? Do you mean google gadgets? Windows sidebar gadgets?
Do you have the source for the thing you want to convert? If not, then no you can't convert it.

For now, everyhing works fine, my Service run on a server and my Client can use it
Now I need to add autentification to the service ...
How can I do that simply on the server site ?
It does'nt need to be very secure, I just want to understand how to do it
I have an example of another service that I'm using as a client
I just have to assign a NetworkCredential to the service's client instance to be able to use it
How can I achieve that on the server side

you want a security for your [code] or for [directorys] ?
if you need it for code you can use MD5 [With PHP]
and you also can make a table for passwords in your database ..
or you can make a firewall...

First, document.all is an IE-only thing. Don't use it. Use document.getElementById(). Second, don't use eval if you don't have to. It is an expensive call.
If you want the onmouseout behavior to stop happening then you have to remove the onmouseout handler for that image.

I would say don't bother. UDDI is really only useful if your web service URLs are likely to change often or you are going to have lots of versions where the contract is likely to change. Both of those scenarios usually mean you have more planning you should be doing.
I know some companies have tried to implement UDDI as a way to document what services they have in place so there isn't duplicated effort across different development teams, but rarely does a service from one team exactly fit the needs of another. And because it is an extra documentation step it is often not done anyway so the UDDI repository is never update to date or accurate.

I have read about Discovery files, WSDL and UDDI
I was able to create web service (class library). Then in the same solution I added another project to consume the web service. At that time when I added a web reference I could see the discovery files and wsdl files.
With regards to UDDI, I have only read. Just wanted to see what is it about. Would you know a link to help me.
Suppose I create an application and want to expose one functionality to another application, I can make that method
exposed using web method attribute. Now inorder to expose this functionality is it sufficient to use discovery and wsd l files or UDDI is necessary?

my question is whether type checking is possible on using http get. From what I understand
on using http get, the url is followed by name-value pairs.
From name-value pairs, I understand it should be the mathod arguments / parameters.
In case of httpsoap, a soap request is structured and it identifies the type(s)
in the request message.
what happens in http get?
