What do you mean by "based on the user's role/business unit data." ? if you mean when they login then please note that at present in each business DB, there are login schemas.

In that case then you got to tear out the login schemas from the business dbs and put it in one common db. Then proceed with either my suggestion or Rana's suggestion.
Based on your original question, to give different login screen to different business, how will you identify which user is from which business before s/he logs in??
So either tear out the login schema into diff db or else, make separate deployment for each business with different db configs.

| There must some specific condition on which you will be deciding whioch db you are going to use.So at the loading of your website,apply the connectionstring that you want. Cheers!!

As far as i think you can have particular id for each bussiness and according to that id you can dynamically
use the connection string as you want.

Callback is very good approach,when we dont want to postback the whole page to the sever.Here we make the html from server and simply paste that html in our page useing the callback response.

Hi,
Callback is used to contact web server(either submitting some information to Web server OR retrieving information from Web Server) in such a way that end user does not experience the processing of request.
In simple words when a callback request is made, system serves the request on the web server and present the information requested on the user interface without refreshing the entire web page on the end user's machine.
Techinally speaking when a callback request is made then Page_PreRender(Before, On and After) events are not fired and the requested information is handed to user interface, this will prevent the complete rendering of page and only the portion that requested the call back operation/request will be updated.
Callback improves the user experience, saves performance and saves the response time.
Postback is the normal process that happens when a page contact web server(either submitting some information to Web server OR retrieving information from Web Server) and it refreshes complete page on the web server.
In simple words when a postaback occurs complete page is rendered again.

I am not able to understand your actual requirement.If you want one button per row then add it upper for loop.

Hi Every one,
i developed an asp.net(2.0) applicaions which contains the attachments of the clients . these attachments are saved in the shared folder and retrive the file when the user requests.
if i maintain the application and the shared folders in the same system it will work properly.
if i maintain the application in one server and the file folder in the other server i face a lot of security issus like
1.Access Denied
2.Couldnot find the part of the path.
.....
for this i made an common account for the application server and the file server and also set impersonation to true.
Even the i got the couldnot find the part of the path error.
i already gave the everyone with full control to the shared folder and i added the common account and gave it to full control
Is there is any alternate for the save and retrive the files to and from the shared folder.
Please help me...

What is the error that you get at the end when you step through the code?

During runtime check if rptDoc holds a value. May be rptDoc.Load(Server.MapPath("Reports/STTCertificateAnnual1.rpt")); returns null.
